So my husband and I are planning to have another baby and I contacted my doctor to talk to her ( we had a GREAT experience with her and her practice), and I learned that they have taken on an additional doctor....and he performs RIC in the practice

I am sooo upset. I asked the nurse if I could refuse to see him, and was told that their policey is that all patients see all the doctors

The doctor is planning to call me tomorrow, and I think I may threaten to leave, but I am nervous because she is so good ( and respectful) of all my other alternative requests.....AHHHH!!

I just can't imagine showing up to an appointment and seeing a little baby boy there....

What would you do??

my OB practice has a similar "rule" about seeing all the doctors. however, there are 2 that i just will not see (not b/c of circ but other things). so when i schedule my appointments, if the nurse says "how about tuesday the 3rd with dr. so-and-so" i say "i can't do it then, is there another day?" or i'll specifically ask for my doc again -- i went through my whole last pg with one doc and plan to do the same with this one simply via scheduling.
if you're really serious about leaving though, ask to talk to the office manager and tell her/him WHY you're leaving -- you'd be surprised how often docs are hired on a "trial" basis and if they lose patients because of it i bet his trial will be fairly short.

good luck!

I would leave... and I would make sure to let everyone in the office know why. I don't go to the doctor often anyhow so it wouldn't bother me to have to drive quite a ways if need be to avoid that situation

love and peace.

I would reply, the next time it came up, "Well, it's my policy that I don't see doctors who cut off body parts of innocent babies for no good reason. I won't be seeing him, thanks."
