I feel out of the loop. I use all prefolds, fitteds and wool but my mama is going to be watching Sophie while Eric and I work. I also figured that since we are moving in with them for a bit it'd be nice to have diapers that others(my dad, sis and mom) can change. I love Happy Heinys and plan on buying 6. I need stuffers. I can buy hemp fleece and make my own(I have a serger), use prefolds, joey bunz or the new stuffins. How well do the new stuffins work? What size prefold fits into a medium HH folded into 3rds the long way(not the wrong way)?
Help me:LOL

edited because I cant spell bunz:

I have both JB and the HH stuffins and like them both, but I think i like the stuffing a little better because I love the extra layer cutomized to your babys wet zone. I can get 2 layers in the front where i need them for my boy without having to bulk up the whole dipe w/2 JB.

I make my own inserts out of 3 layers of hemp fleece. They work just as well as the ones you buy. It is much cheaper, too.

For night, I use a regular prefold and a hemp insert. It works great! I found for us, the prefold made a world of difference for night. We use mediums, too.

Oh I forgot...does anyone use the microfiber towels? I would never put them against her skin but in a pocket diaper...

Thanks for your input so far. I did think it would be cheaper to make my own

Infant sized prefolds (not the premium or standard... infant prefolds are shorter) fit perfectly into M/L HH, and most other pocket dipes. If you need more absorbency, you can wrap the prefold around a hemp doubler, but just the prefold works well for us.

I've tried the microfiber towels, and though some people love them, I gave them all to DH to wash the car with. They seemed to work, but they feel icky to touch. They snag every bit of dry skin I didn't think I had on my hands when I fold them, and they cling to themselves... I hate the way they feel, so I don't bother with them. Hair and lint also sticks to them. They seem to work ok, but you'd need 2 inside a pocket dipe to equal the absorbency of a prefold or hemp (and they would still be very trim with 2 in there).

It's really really easy to make your own if you have a serger!! They don't have to be pretty to work well!! My kiddo gets all the seconds that I can't sell, and he doesn't even know/care!
