Impossible to answer obviously. It is just fun to think of all the different possibilities.
I am wondering if this baby will look like his/her siblings.

Both DH and I have dark hair, although he was a redhead as a child. He has really curly hair and I have super straight and thick hair. He has brown eyes and I have hazel. He is pale with freckles and I am pale if I stay out of the sun, but can get quite tanned. So far we have 3 pale-skinned, straight-haired blonds (2 of whom started out red, and if dd's hair were longer it might be curly), 2 with blue eyes and one with hazel eyes. They all look a lot alike, especially ds#1 and dd.
So, I'm wondering if we will end up with another blondie, or if this time around it will be something completely different.

I have been wondering about that as well. My three kids are complete blends of my hubby and I. They are all a bit different but they look a lot alike. My hubby is 1/2 Korean and I am almost full Irish. My dad and his two brothers have flaming red hair so there is always the possibility of a red-head. I wonder if this one will be just another variation on my children's looks or vere off in a whole new direction. It is exciting to think about a little person that is going to be here pretty soon.
I'm really thinking this ds will be dark.

My husband is part Puerto Rican and part Irish.. His father is very fair. And dh and his younger sister are as well... His mother is dark, and his oldest sister is too..

My mother and oldest sister are dark.. My father, myself and my younger brother are blonde and blue eyed..

DS1 has straight dark blonde hair, w/ blue eyes... So I'm thinking this ds will be dark like our mothers and sisters.

I think about this alot too! I have a friend who is Chinese and married a french guy. Their DS1 has light brown/dark blonde hair, blue eyes, is skinney as a rail and very fair skin. Their DS2 has DARK brown hair and eyes (eyes are almost black), and very dark brown skin with the purple butt that she says is very common in Chinese children. He is also VERY chunky. The kids do look related, but have VERY different looks!

My DS is my spitting image. It's fun to think what if DC2 looks more like DH. I even thought the other day will it be hard to love a baby as much that doesn't look like my DS? I know it's bizarre!

This is our first, so no siblings to compare to, but we've been speculating lately! DH and I have very similar coloring (very fair, same blue-green eyes), so we're pretty sure the eyes will be blue or blue-green and that she'll be very fair! I'm a redhead, along with my two brothers, and my parents both have very dark hair except for red in my dad's beard. DH has brown hair with red in his beard, so we're speculating that she may be a redhead. DH and both my brothers are very freckled but I'm just pale, so who knows if she'll get that aspect!

We do know that she moves like me, lol. On the ultrasound, she kept shifting and arching her back the way I do to get comfortable when I'm lying down. We can't wait to finally see her!

DS was blond and bald -like me, my brother, and DH. His eyes were slate, but eventually turned the exact green of dh's. I expected dd to look exactly like him - but i hoped her eyes would stay blue, like mine. I was really shocked when she came out with dark hair - not lots and lots, but way more than ds, me or dh. I have no idea what to expect with this one. Red hair is a possibility for our family, too. I can't wait to see what she's going to look like!!

We often debate this as well. DF has thick blonde hair and blue eyes, his brothers are also blonde and blue eyed. They were all large babies at birth as well, but Andrew is the only one to be bigger and taller than average (6'1"). He can tan extremely well (so jealous). I on the other hand had redish-blonde hair as a child but it darkened to medium brown and is curly/coarse. I'm really short (5'1") and have olive skin. My middle brother is expecting a baby in August, he could almost be my twin so I'm interested to see how similar our babes look.

This is so funny.

My first 2 look exactly like dh. They have thick, wavy, white blonde hair (OMG the calls, "Why does your baby have gauze wrapped all over its head? What is wrong?" were all answered with "That's his hair."), tall, thin and just very North German (Ost Friesische Islands). My mil is not albino but does have ocular albinism, white blonde hair, and has large patches of skin that seem to lack pigmentation. The kids are a teeny, tiny bit darker than her. Now at 10 yo I joke that ds's hair, skin and teeth are all the same color.

I thought I knew what my babies looked like and then came #3. She looks like my mom's family. She has honey blonde curly crazy hair but the first thing dh said wasn't, "She's a girl!" but, "Oh wow, dark hair." She is petite and feisty, beautiful peaches and cream skin with just a few freckles and looks nothing like them. She stands out in all the group photos. #4 looks like the older two but has slightly more 'normal' coloring for a fair skinned blonde.

So now I know that we produce 2 looks in our children but I have no idea what we will get this time. It's like waiting to hear what their speaking voices sound like.

I have been thinking about this lately. I have in mind two that seem likely. One is a baby pic of me: like my brothers, fair skin, huge brown eyes, and dark brown hair (mine is crazy thick and wavy/curly). The other is a picture of DH's little nieces, who look a lot like him as a baby. Straight wispy blonde hair, brown eyes, long little noses, a tendency to tan.

My dh and I have made predictions that I have written in the calendar of the date and time of day the baby will be born, how much (s)he will weigh, whether Baby will be a he or she, and what Baby will look like.

I predicted a girl who has dark brown hair, my eyes, and dh's mouth.
Dh predicted a girl with brown hair and blue eyes. We'll see who is closer.

Well, DS looks JUST like DH right down to his hairline and hands... it's downright creepy sometimes.

I think this baby will look like me but have DH's dark curly hair and my blue eyes.

(Okay, maybe that's what I hope, I really think this baby is going to come out DH's clone.... I must not have very strong genes... DD and DS both look like their fathers.)

This baby could be any sort of hit or miss combo with the varied heritage of DH and I, however DH has the stronger genes as is evident with DD. I am of French-Canadian and Portuguese descent with dark brown hair, really big blue-green eyes and more of an olive complexion. DH is from Iran, so Persian, has light brown hair, sort of asian/almond shaped brown eyes and is a very fair complexion. The weird thing is DH's mom has blue eyes and sort of redish-blonde hair so there are a lot of recessive genes in there. Nonetheless, I think this baby will have dark straight hair, DH's eyes and his fairer complexion.

In my dreams the baby would have his mom's hair color and my eye color as I think that would be wild to have two siblings look so different.

I have no idea. My first dd looks just like me, and my second looks much like her father.

Though I'll say this: what babies look like for the first months can have very little to do with what they look like as they get older! Both of my children looked like they were of a different background than their parents when they were born. They had yellowish tones in their skin and BLACK as night hair. The hair fell out after a few months, and grew in blonde on them both. dd1 at 6 years now has light brown hair, and dd2 still has white-blonde hair that is turning darker blonde. So, what you see when the baby comes out can have little to do with how they will look as children--or adults. Eyes can change for the first year, though if both parents have blue or green eyes, it is *not possible* for the baby to have brown. Brown is dominant, and so if either parent carries it, it would be expressed (the parent would have brown). So if neither parent has brown eyes, the baby cannot.

The kids in my partner's family all had white blonde until they were 7 or so, then they all grew dark brown hair. I wouldn't have believed it but for the pictures!

I have been thinking about this alot too...DH and I both have blue eyes, so I think the kid has to as well (am I right?...trying to remember college biology class... ) but as to hair color, I am honey blond and DH is a red head. I think a little redheaded boy would be so cute, but both DH's parents have dark hair as does my father and 2 of my brothers so I guess that's a possibility as well.

Its all so fun to think about really! I should go back and look at baby pictures of myself and DH...give us something to compare to once the little guy gets here.

My first son's eye color changed when he was 2. He had blue, blue eyes and then one day I looked at him and they were hazel! Weird. I had to go back and look at pictures to be sure, but they really did change that late.

This IS a lot of fun to think about! It's going to be a surprise for sure, this is DP and I's first baby together. He has a daughter, and myself a son from previous relationships, so I can't really pull too much info from them.

I'm one hundred percent Northern European... Fair skin that BURNS, honey blonde, light blue eyes. DP is largely Irish, German, with a bit of Native American... But that's all he knows about. From looking at him(and especially his mom, where he got his coloring) I'd guess that he has something a little "swarthy-er" in there as well, maybe French or Italian... He has fair skin that freckles but tans, dark brown hair that bleaches in the sun, and tea-brown eyes. Thing is, he's the only one of the children in his family that got the dark eyes... His sisters are a range of blonde to dark brown, but they all have blue-hazel eyes. His daughter has blue-hazel eyes and dark hair, as does her mom. My son has my coloring, through and through... His dad wasn't much different, having blue eyes and light brown hair, but while Leo has many of his dad's facial features, his resemblance to my family is HUGE... We have strong genetics.

Taking all of that into account along with the strong intuition that baby is a girl(no u/s for us)... I'm positive she'll be fair skinned, hope she gets the cute freckles: I'm pretty sure she'll have blue eyes, hope she gets her daddy's beautiful brown: I bet she'll be blonde, I hope I'm right though chances are she could grow into brown: And I hope she gets a perfect blend of features, as I think that DP and I both have nice looks. I'm most curious to see her nose, to tell the truth. I have a nice nose, kinda thin and birdy but a little long in profile. DP has a longish nose too, but wider, and with the "Roman" bump that is so sexy. Oh, and I bet she'll be tall and curvy when she's older. His mom and sisters (except for one lumpy one) are short and curvy, and the women in my family are curvy(though prone to extra fluff) but the majority of us are tall. DP is tall and thin... Bean pole type. I'm hoping his bean pole balances out my bit o' fluff, though I have no evidence to back that up.

This is a fun thread.

My Dh is pale, straight brown hair, hazel eyes. I tan up really nicely, eyes that range from blue to grey to green, really curly dark hair. My son looks like my brother. To the extent that my mom's friends are weirded out by reliving their past when they see him. He even walks the same way. DS did get DH's fair skin and long eyelashes and very straight hair, and a hint of his features, and I don't have any idea where his cute little nose came from, but there is nothing of me in him looks-wise. Oh, wait, except we have the same belly button haha. DH and I each have one sibling (no parents/grandparents and not ourselves) with blue-blue eyes, which DS got.

This baby appears to have much "pointier" features (like me!) when we saw it on the ultrasound last week. We marveled at how diff it looks already from DS's US pics at the same age. DS had the round head and cute little smushy nose even in his US pics. So I'm excited so see if we're going to have one with more of "me" in it. My coloring would be nice, since I wouldn't worry about sun burning so much. (I SLATHER DS with sunscreen and he still burns in a short amount of time...just like his dad.) And when I think about my birth, I always envision this baby coming out with dark, curly hair.

We'll have to revive this thread after the babes are born, and see how wildly different they look from how we predicated. It's fun thinking about what little peices of ourselves, partners and family we see in our little ones now.

My ds, too. I don't know when they changed, but he was over one year. I called them blue until he said "no, green." I looked really close, and yup, they're green.
Dd's are still blue. I'm hoping they stay that way, but I don't know if they will, even though she's 2.

well, this is our first. so no sibs to compare and contrast.

dh and i are very similar in structure, but our actual appearances vary quite a bit.

i have red hair, brown eyes, freckles, and a basic smattering of muttness from scottish/irish/american ancestors.

dh is irish, through and through. he has dark brown hair, bluey/greeny eyes that change colors based on his mood, and pale skin (but still darker than me).

i'm thinking baby will have my hair, his eyes, and freckles. cause, well, why not?

Dh and I favor each other it's kind of freaky. So our kids look like both of us but if they are alone with us they look like clones of us. My dd was born with black hair and it all fell out and came in blonde which she is to this day. Ds was born with brown hair and it has always been. I really cannot wait to see what this baby looks like. Here is a family pic from Sept. of last year. You can see how we all look very much alike!

http://i111.photobucket.com/albums/n...9_082906-2.jpg
