(crossposted form my DDC - I'm 31 weeks)

The baby is moving - but not as much as usual today. I've had water, sugar, layed down, etc. But all day long she's been very subdued and I don't know - weak - feeling. Do I want to panic and go in for monitoring or do I want to chill out and figure she's just sleepy today? She also seems to be in a new position - which could be an explanation.

I do have a two vessel cord - which makes me more nervous then usual. What would you do?

I don't know what "two vessel cord" means ... and that might make a difference. That being said - I had a panic yesterday when I hadn't felt ds move for 24 hours (I'm 38wks). Me and dh rushed to the hospital and I got hooked to a monitor, and immediately heard his heartbeat. They ran an eft strip and gave me an ultrasound to check fluid levels, and everything was fine. I felt like a total jerk for freaking out, but everyone from the MW to the nurses to the u/s tech told me over and over again that I did the right thing.

It's certainly promising that you're feeling any movement at all.
From my recent experience, it's better safe than sorry - especially since for you at 31wks, they're not going to try to induce you for no reason or anything, and you'll feel 200% better when you know everything is OK. Look at it this way: if something IS wrong, you'll feel 10000 times worse if you have a bad outcome and are left with the feeling that you could have done something about it but chose not to.

Call your practicioner. It can't hurt. But don't worry, mama!

I also don't know what a 2 vessel cord is, but I would base my decision on my baby's personality. I know my first really wasn't all that active except for certain times of day, but this one moves an awful lot throughout the day. If I had gone that long without feeling it, with this pregnancy I probably would go in for the monitoring. It can't hurt anything, you'll feel better, and a lot of what I've read says that the majority of issues with babies in utero are caught by the mama's intuition. (((hugs))) I'm sure everything is fine but go with your gut.

Well after dinner she did some more position changing and got a good case of the hiccups - so I'm going to assume all is well.
Thanks for the advice - I don't usually worry much but I got a good case of preggo jitters today for some reason.
