I'm looking on ebay for some comfy hiking boots or shoes. Can anyone recommend a good brand? We also mountain bike, so something that would work great for both would be awesome.

I had a pair of Nike hiking boots that were fairly decent if you were doing lightweight hiking. The hiking boots i have now i love but i think they may be a little too clunky for what you are looking for....Did you try REI website? They may have some good recommendations on there

I'm seriously into hiking and have gone through a lot of the top of the line brands, but my absolute favorites remain a pair of Montrails that I picked up on eBay for $8. It's really a lot more about fit than brand ... I'd suggest going to a local outfitter, seeing what works for you, and going home with a list of options to bargain shop for.

I have a pair of Vasque I love them. I've had them for a few years now and they are still great. the also have Gore-Tex so I can walk through creeks and such as long as it does not go over my ankle with out my feet getting wet.

Right now I'm bidding on a pair of Merrell's and Ecco Receptor's. Thanks for your input, ladies!
If there were an outdoor store, I'd go try some on. But there isn't around here. I won't go wrong with ebay...the worst that'll happen is they don't fit and I can put them right back up on ebay again.

I love my Vasque hiking boots. I've had them for 10+ years.

If you're looking for something lighter, how about Keene's? I don't have any, but that's what we get for DS for summer b/c of the toe protection.

The sales folks at EMS/REI or wherever you go will be able to help out, too.
