What's going on with dd's fingers???

Last night I noticed that my 8yo dd has a weird thing going on with her pinky fingers. Between the last joint and the tip of her pinkys are reddish and swollen and they look curved. She can move them, they don't hurt, she can't remember hurting them. But it looks odd and I'm worried about them. I would think she just hurt her finger but it's on both pinkys, which seems unlikely.

I made an appointment with her pediatrician today but the earliest I could get a non-emergency appointment is next Monday.

I wish I had a photo to post. Does this sound familiar to anyone?
