I haven't seen one lately so I thought I would get one of these threads up and going!

I recently finished a small bag for my sister. It's a basketweave pattern with an I-cord tie t hat just wraps around a big ol' button. It's perfect size for things like makeup. I didn't felt it though and I don't think I will. Not sure though. I've been thinking about it. I was originally going to line it with some pretty purple material (the yarn is purples/greens) but realized I don't have anymore left! The top of it (which was the sides when I was knitting it. It was knit flat and just folded in half and sewn up the sides ) is kind of icky looking and I'm trying to figure out how to fix it but have no idea what to do with it. I'l ltake pictures later.

OTN right now is a purse I am doing for me out of my Kool-Aid dyed recycled wool yarn. I am working on the bottom piece right now .I am going to do it in four pieces. The bottom, the two (bigger) sides, and then one long piece that will be the thinner sides AND the strap. Can you visualize that?

I am also working on some longies/shorties for DD. I am not sure about them though. I think I will take them apart and figure out something else to make for her birthday (in May!!!!!! ). I don't know though. I have restrated these things three times now.

I am also figuring out Christmas stuff. I wrote down everyone the other night and between our two families, if I am not forgetting anyone (and this is JUST immediate family) there are 43 people. Yes, I will be doing family gifts because I am not knitting 43 items in the next 9 months!

What are you working on?

I'm working on perfection pants for ds, legwarmers for a swap (KA dying over pre-dyed yarn is soo fun!), a lace scarf for me in superfine merino, and socks for my stepmom for mother's day.

I just finished two hats and pairs of socks for afghans for Afghans' newborn drive.
Oh, I have another scarf started, out of really lovely wool chiffon, but it's got a mistake about 10 rows back, and the stuff totally sucks to rip, so it's stashed way at the bottom of my knitting box right now.

I'm working on my very first diapering item - a pair of picky pants, well shorts now... in the LTK superfine merino "after the rain" colorway.

It's my first time knitting in the round, and I just got started on the legs... I'm using DPNs for the 1st time of course, I got really freaked out at first but it's working out okay.

Um, is this thing supposed to be knitted inside out? I don't know, but it seems to be working. Actually, to my total shock, up to this point they are perfect!!! I'm sort of knitting blind, I knew how to knit as a kid and just sort of picked up the needles. Seems like my fingers remember what my mind forgot!

I knitted a couple of Debbie Bliss items over the winter ~ a sweater and a hat.

I'm working on many things at once (as usual)...here's a current list:

"The Boy's" afghan in Kona dyed by me in Blue, Red, Plumb on 7s. I started with this square sampler 'ghan, but am doing my own design. I am doing the Lacy Chevron's, but because they are staggard they look like diamonds. I think it looks cool. I'm also alternating (between the diamonds) rows of Garter in a Blue that I dyed that coordinates. I'm planning on this to be done before he arrives. I'll end it with the Blue and probably some eyelets at the edging, and then an Icord bind off, just for fun..

I just started (as in yesterday) a scarf for my sister (#3). She requested a scarf (lacy type thing) for Christmas, and I had ordered the yarn back in September. Because of some issues I didn't receive the yarn until Last month, so obviously she didn't get it for Christmas. The yarn is Zephyr laceweight in Admiral. Very pretty stuff. The pattern I'm doing is Maralis from Stahman's book on size 6 needles. It's pretty brainless so far. I'm not making it a seaman's scarf, but am still starting at hte middle and working my way down both sides.

I also jsut started (as in yesterday again) the gauge swatch for Knitty's Sonnet. I'm using LTK's beautifully custom dyed Kona on 7s. This yarn was originally going to be a capelet/poncho, but the yarn was not cooperating. I though that Maggie Righetti was nuts when she said she let hte yarn "talk" to her, well, she's not as crazy as I first thought. This yarn DID NOT want ot be the capelet! I had soooo many problems with it! But it's seeming pleased with the Moss stitch swatch I've started. It looks great. It's the Black Rainbow that I posted a while ago (I think I posted here)...

Also on the needles (and was going to be for Easter, but I'm bored) is a capelet for me of my own design. Using some Cotton/Rayon fingering weight in purple. I think it will be great for down here, but I'm bored, so it may never get finished..lol

Still on the needles is the Oh So Boring Black cardigan. LionBrand's Woolease in sport weight on 8s. I'm on the bottom part of the body, with the sleeves to finish (blech). It's just painfully boring. I know I'll love the sweater as it's a timeless classic (Knitting Puer and Simple the V neck cardi w/the ties) but it's sooooo boring to knit...

Also, still on the needles, is the Faroease shawl I started forever ago. It's my selfdyed Kona on 7s (I think). Again, I'm just bored w/it. I'm using umm..one of Stahman's patterns, but adapted..I think it's Gracie, but with a stockinette top and starting the lace at the bottom. I'm on the lace part, but am bored...

Still on the needles, a knit jacket that was supposed to be for my dd#1 for this winter...yeah, well, winter is almost over, and it's not done. Needs cuffs for the sleeves, and some sewing up, and that's it...again..bored...

Again on the needles (but probably considered a UFO now) is a lace shawl. It's another one of Stahman's patterns, but I can't htink of which one. I have the pattern/yarn together, but it's just sitting right now....

I'm sure there's a few more....I think I have a problem...I love projects, er starting new projects...lol....or maybe I just need more needles...

Hugs,
The points of the neeldes you're working on should be closest to you, and the outside out. Just turn the needles, push the work down through the needles, and you should be good to go!

I've actually joined the ranks of those having more than one project going at once!

hmmm! It worked!

But then I switched back around. I figure I've worked it inside-out for this long, why stop now? It looks okay... we'll see how it turns out, though.

But I can't figger out how to switcharoooo with the circular needles. Oh well, I'll try a different way next time. Maybe I should open up the S&B*tch book...

thank you!

Oh I don't know how some of you do it, I have to finish each project before I start another or none of them would ever get finished. I just finished a pair perfection pants, well made them into shorts and now I just started a blanket that I am making in squares for my DS. I am using brightly colored peace fleece wool-- their wool is soooo yummy. I just love working with it. This blanket is going to take a WHILE.

Finishing? Who said anything about finishing??? Ok, so I OBVIOUSLY have a problem...

Is it wrong to:
1. Buy more needles 'cause the ones I want are being use for other patterns?
2. Make more stitch markers/row counters as again the ones I have are in use?
3. Buy more yarn with more ideas in mind, hwen I have yarn in 3 seperate tubs around me?

These booties for a friend out of some crazy handspun thick-thin every color of the rainbow yarn another friend gave me.
http://www.chapelknitworks.com/knitt...otypattern.htm

And the Ottobre soaker out of yarn that is four different strands of color (black, lime green, royal blue and sky blue) that I found at my LYS. But the soaker is never going to fit my giant boy so I may frog it!

it`s the (chinese) year of the dog.... I found a great dog pattern in an old scandanavian knitting book so I am making hats with dogs this year... almost 10 now!!!!

also experimenting with dish rags (cotton) and mojo bags (embroidery floss) stiped bags on about #2 needles.... not sure why I tried embroidery floss but I was intrigued by the color options, so I just started knitting and the little bags (think hackey sack size) are just great!!!!

long term project... on about 6 double pointed needles.... a blanket...knit 5, purl 5 for 5 rows then alternate.....purl 5 knit 5....with linen.......

not ever concerned with finishing, just enjoying the ride!!!!!!!

I try to only keep one thing going at a time. I just got done with my third Crumpets dress in a month. I just need the little girls chest measurement so I can sew in the elastic.

Right now I am working something for me. Wow, I never do that! I keep finding myself thinking about the upcoming projects I want to do for other people. I am having to couch myself into finishing this before I start the others. I just am not used to knitting for myself, I guess. Anyway, I am working on the Twisty Turns Wrap http://www.knitpicks.com/Projects/Pr...yarnid=5420126 . I am using Knit Pics Andean Silk in the Pool colorway. It is so soft! I can't wait to get this finished and get to wear it.

Well, unless they are like Inox Express Circulars, that's not a temptation for me....now if you know of a great place to get those at a great price, please share!!!
