Our microwave is on the fritz and we're considering replacing it with a non-microwave oven. While we eat mostly organic and natural foods, we do also make use of natural "convenience" foods, and I want something I can heat those in, as well. These generally come in a paper dish (no plastic!) so I expect they'd work in most types of ovens, as well. Of course there are other things we sometimes use the microwave for that are easily transferred to a conventional oven - those I don't expect to have trouble with in a countertop oven of some sort.

What would you recommend? I know there are a variety of types of ovens out there... We have a decent pop-up toaster, so don't necessarily need the toasting of a toaster oven. But I'm open to that sort as a possibility. I also don't do a ton of baking (some, but we buy our breads typically from WF), so that's not something I really need to be able to do in this.

Please help me figure out what to get!

I've never seen a small countertop oven that wasn't a "toaster oven" or "toaster oven broiler". So, even if you don't need the toasting feature, it may be unavoidable if you want a small countertop oven.

Some paper can safely go in conventional ovens, but other kinds can burst into flames. You may need to transfer some of those items into real baking dishes before heating them up.

I'd have to vote for the toaster oven. The whole inside of ours is removable, so it's waaaay easier to clean than a pop-up toaster. It is great for reheating stuff.

We also use our double boiler for reheating certain items.
