i asked this same question on the ttc board-
i am wondering because i bought tests from a websight that boasted detecting 20ml of HCG and showing positive results at 6-8 days past conception. i didnt know an egg could even implant by 6 days!! so could this be true-
has anyone tested at 6-8 DPO and got a BFP-or even a faint BFP?

if so with what brand?

I tested + at 9dpo with a First Response Early Result. Faint but very easily visible. I had a quant. beta hcg the next day and it was 19. The First Response test is very sensitive. The most sensitive, IMO.

I bought a whole bunch of the 20ml tests when we were TTC. I've always heard that most tests are pretty much the same, but the lower ml detection are better and more reliable.

Now, here's where in a few weeks I'll be able to tell you whether or not I think they're reliable. Ready for a story? I never had a PPAF after my son was born due to nursing him. My husband and I were TTC and I would test pretty much once a week. Sometimes I wouldn't but most of the times I did. And, sometimes I was so obsessed I'd take a couple a week. Well, July 10 (I think it was then) I tested positive. I was shocked! I tested again and again and got a positive every time.

So, I go to make an appnt with the midwive for the next week and I'm already measuring 11-12 weeks. I had taken a test 10 days before my positive one. And, that was negative. *Maybe* it had a faint line, but not anything that I knew as a line just from looking at it.

Now, maybe the tests were not really accurate.

Maybe I just have a big uterus or carry differently.

Maybe I'm carrying more than one baby. (as the weeks go by my measurements are growing more than 1 cm/week)

We really don't know. At the end of this I have an u/s. We'll know the due date then. If the due date is within parameters for when I tested positive, then the tests work. If the due date is months off from the test, then they don't work. One way or another I'm going to have a strong opinion for you. I just don't have it right now.

Feel free to PM after Sept. 29. I'll know more then! Or if this thread is still on page one, I'll remember to post and update. Sorry for the novel.

I had a BFP 10 days after what I'm nearly positive was conception date with an ept stick. The line showed up right away, so maybe I could have gotten a result one or two days earlier. I thought I was testing too early, but I couldn't wait any longer. I had to find out if there was a reason for the way I was feeling.

I tested + 9dpo with a first response early result. The cheap internet tests that claim to detect 20 miu hcg that early, I used them every day and FINALLY got a very, very, barely there faint line on 15 dpo.
I was very disappointed. I am going to stick with first response from now on.

I used a cheap internet test and got a bfp on 10dpo, never bothered wasting money on a store bought test after consecutive positives.

Seemed to work great for me!

thanks SO MUCH for your responses ladies! its good to hear about some of you getting such early BFP!! some of the internet tests seem to not work so well for others-
I got mine from www.saveontests.com, and I bought them this late spring/early summer. I bought both opks and hpts and was very happy with both...
