I don't know where this goes, but I figured it'd get answered here the quickest.

DS is 21 months and he woke up fine this morning. We went to playgroup and all of a sudden his eyes were making thick pus. First I thought it was morning guck, but I wiped them off with kleenex and they came back again, and again... his eyes were bloodshot and he just looked pitiful! I had to stay the 2 hours since I had no ride, but no one noticed except for one mama who commented that he looked tired. It's not oozing nearly as much anymore but if I clean it, it comes right back again. It's yellow and sticky.

What is this, and is it contagious?? (That was probably a stupid question).

Sounds like pink-eye. Very contagious, you can put breastmilk in his eyes it really helps to clear it up fast. HTH!

Yep. Sounds like pink eye. If you don't have breastmilk they sell some pink eye stuff at drugstores. I think it's Similisan or something like that.

That's what I was afraid of, but I'm not sure if I've seen it IRL or not I've already squirted some BM into his eyes and he thought it was HILARIOUS! Of course not a whole lot got in there but he let me try and it's better than nothing. The only place I've been that I could find Similisan was in Switzerland and Germany so I don't think I'll be getting any of that anytime soon I'll head to the drugstore if it gets much worse, but keeping my fingers crossed that the BM does the trick.

Thanks mamas!!

COULD be pinkeye, but then I thought my 10 year old had pinkeye a couple of months ago. Turned out it was just a virus, cold got into his eye.

Yeah, it definitely not pinkeye He's just got a cold in his eyes... his eyes are fine and then I take him outside and they get yucky again for a bit. It's just a tiny bit though so hopefully it'll be completely gone soon
