Ok, I'm 3.5 months pp. I bf full time. I started having epsiodes of spotting at 8 weeks pp. I call these af. They are not ppbleeding...totally different.

Ok, so I had a 30 day cycle. Then I had a 15 day cycle. Followed by another 15 day cycle.

I have nothing more than spotting. No flow. And normally it is just blood tinged cm...or cloody cm. It isn't actual blood flow...make sense??

What do you think it is??

Have you had your thyroid checked?

When I was hyperthyroid, I had tons of spotting. As soon as my thryoid was regulated and back to normal, the spotting stopped.

If you get a test, make sure your Free T3 and T4 is checked as well as your TSH. Sometimes only a TSH test is done which can be inconclusive.

What about hypothyroid??

I have not been tested but I've been wondering if I'm having thyroid issues. I've been experiencing memory loss, weight that won't come off, bouts of depression, almost constant nausea, extreme tired, now the spotting.

Usually the hypothyroid period is heavy and lasts longer than 7 days. Your other symptoms sound hypo though. Keep in mind not everyone has all symptoms, and people can have a variety of combinations. You have enough symptoms to be proactive about having your thyroid checked.

More than 1 out of every 10 women have thyroid problems, and they are most likely to happen post partum since your immune system bounces back very quickly after being suppressed for 40 weeks. Personally I think that all women should get a thyroid blood test at 6 and 12 months pp regardless.

Other possible causes you may want to look into are PPMD (post partum mood disorders) or stress induced with being a new mom.

Ok this is TMI and I'm But anyway after the birth of my second child I spotted quit a bit. Found out I had some yeast infection and each time dh and I would 'get together' it would irritate a place and would start the spotting.
