Ok, it seemed like we needed someplace specifically to count the positives. What is your favorite thing about 1st trimester, 2nd trimester and 3rd trimester?

1st -- Surprise and wonderment of what is happening.

2nd -- Feeling great, looking cute.

3rd -- Willingness of others to do ANYTHING for you. Knowing that you'll meet your baby soon.

First - The delight and wonderment of being 'chosen'
Second - Lots and lots of great sex!
Third - Being impressed with my body
Fourth - Feeling so very blessed

Thanks!

1st trimester: I loved how I felt like I had a secret (although friends and family knew, I was not showing so the world at large didn't) and I loved looking everyday to see how the baby was changing on a daily basis. The whole thing was just so amazing and trippy.

2nd: Feeling the first kicks and just generally beginning to show and feel like an official pregnant lady. Also, I really loved not being nauseated, I will never take that for granted again.

3rd: I love nesting, even though it is stressful at times. I love feeling the kicks and actually being able to feel a foot or a leg. I really love how the baby seems to respond to different things, like when dh talks to my belly or when I rub my belly. I even love being woken up by kicks in the middle of the night! Also, at times, I really do like feeling pampered by family and friends.

Atilla, I came to post the same about the first trimester! Dh and I actually do keep it a secret from EVERYONE until the very end of the first trimester, so it's kind of nice for the two of us to share this secret in private for several months before we let others in on it.

Second Trimester- Wearing maternity clothes and looking cute (like you said, Sparklin)

Third Trimester- Excitement of preparation, feeling that growing babe

Oooh, this is so fun! Everything that you each posted I can identify with. Atilla & teachma that secret that the world doesn't know in the 1st is really amazing.

Good idea to add a 4th trimester! Afterall, those first three months PP are special and a continuation of pregnancy, I feel.

YEAH! Keep 'em coming!

1st--absolute excitement, which is a wonderful aid in getting through that first trimester. We didn't tell anyone until 12 weeks, so it was kind of fun having that secret .

2nd--(I'm in this one now). Feeling like I'm getting to know my baby and enjoying the expansion of my belly.

3rd--Feeling like I can really "get ready" for the baby, finalizing the last preparations as our family gets ready to add one more person.

Can i be the party poop? I am a miserable pregnant person and can only things i don't like about being pregnant in each trimester... I'll share those things, if you don't mind!

1st tri - Miserable finding out i have 9 months of pregnancy ahead of me! I have to watch what i eat, drink, smoke, etc... Finding out my regular clothes don't fit already, and i need to buy maternity clothes.

2nd tri - Realizing that 9 months is really an eternity that will never end! Growing way beyond normal size, and having to buy bigger maternity clothes. The way maternity clothes fit, and how they look!

3rd Tri - Feeling like i can't breath every min of every day, can't sleep on my stomach, HEARTBURN/ACID REFLUX, Waiting and not knowing when the baby will come, (i'm very impatient!).

The only good thing to me about being pregnant is labor & delivery!! And of course the baby!! I love the challenge, to see if i can get the baby out w/out intervention (even if it is at the hosptial). I love when the baby comes out to see what they look like, and nursing for the very first time when they don't kow what to do and look like a fish out of water, I love rooting, i think it is the most adorable thing! I love when baby falls asleep on your chest, and then you never want to get up.

Sorry for the bad sharing, but i really don't have anything nice to say about being PG! Which then maybe I shouldn't have said anything at all!

I'm in the first trimester now, so this is a good exercise for me!

First trimester: Having The Secret, the way the world is a different color than it was before we found out, the dreaming and planning with DH over morning coffee (at least until after the first few sips, at which time I feel like throwing up).

Second trimester: Everything. The kicks, the clothes, the energy, the smiles from strangers. Feeling invincible.

Third trimester: Oddly, that VERY Pregnant feeling. Having everyone cater to me . Feeling all woman and like an earth mother. And, at the end, the anticipation every day that "this could be it."

Thanks, I needed this!

oh, i love this too. i don't think i felt it as much last time, but do this time for sure. dd really love my pg body too (as does dh)...in the bath the other day she said 'mama, your nipples are BLACK!' - sure enough, my nipples are very dark now! i hadn't even noticed. its been great looking at pictures in ina may's book and thinking 'wow, that looks like me!' big earth goddess belly, large breasts with dark nipples, etc.

First--the dreams and magic of it. Trying to absorb the news!! Someone new in our family!! And the reved up sex drive!! the intense dreams!

Second--having a tummy and finally feeling the baby move around. However, this is actually my least favorite trimester, contrary to everyone else's experience. oh, and great sex.

Third--having the huge belly. being so close to the birth but realizing I need to treasure this last transition period w/my kids that are already born. THe weird feeling that everything is about to change soon. Oh, and then the sex again!
