What's your favorite thing about being pregnant? This is a fun poll! But, it could be serious too. But what is it about actually being with child that you like the best?

For me, frivilous -- I like getting to buy new clothes. Sure, they're huge and I won't get to wear them terribly long, but hey it's shopping! Also frivilous, fabu nails. I've got these long lovely nails that aren't breaking and my don't I feel tres elegant.

Slightly less frivilous -- the attention is nice. People are happy when they see me, interested in my condition and what's going on with the baby now. I'm pretty social and love to talk and explain anyway, so it's a nice opportunity to connect with friends and strangers alike.

Totally serious -- I love the new life that I'm helping bring into this world. The unique little person that'll be part me, part my husband and totally himself. Someone who will have unique thoughts and ideas and a perspective on the world I'll influence, but won't totally determine. I can't wait to get to know him. I love him already.

This is totally true for me too!
I talk easily with strangers, so I don't necessarily mind all the questions.

I also love my body when I'm pregnant.
It's really the only time I'm comfortable with my body image, being about 70-75 pounds overweight to begin with. I love my round, hard, belly!
Now if I could only find some decent, sexy clothes to wear! Someone needs to start a new market in the plus-sized maternity business.

I love having a big round belly. I just love it. I'm pretty okay with my body all the time but I just love it when I'm pregnant.

Also I love knowing the baby is with me all the time. I love to feel him or her move and imagine what it is like inside my womb.

And there is so much fun fantasizing and daydreaming to do when pregnant- how will labor start, what will i do during labor, what will this sweet baby look like, will it be a boy or a girl....

I am enjoying this pregnancy so much!

I love the round ball I'm carrying in front of me and the fact that I am not 'widening' - from the back you cannot tell that I am pregnant at all. I expected that I would just look portly. I am normally pushing 40-45 lbs overweight so I must agree that I enjoy my pregnant belly because I know that's the first thing that people notice and it makes them smile.

I mostly enjoy getting kicked but not in the cervix!!

I love talking to my child, especially in German. We talk a lot in the car. And if you are talking to yourself and rubbing your round belly, people don't look at you as if you're strange, they look at you with warm, loving glances.

I love looking at itty bitty clothes! I look over my miniscule stash of baby clothes frequently and smile. I have been known to fall asleep for a nap curled up with a baby blanket.

I enjoy thinking about how labor and birth will be and hope that the daydreaming counts as a form of visualization for how I'd like birth to go!

I ENJOY THIS GROUP OF WOMEN!!! And I never would have found all of you if I hadn't been pregnant and due in September!!

With dk#1, I did *all* of my talking to him in my head. I'm not sure why -- I suppose because he wasn't out to be hearing me. And I completely didn't expect that I would be doing any talking to the baby before he was born. It just happened, and then I realized that it was always in my head. And I completely stopped once he was born, and started talking out loud. I frequently hear about parents talking to their unborn babies, but from outside, often related to bonding (reading the same story/singing the same song every night). So, I'm not sure why I did that. I have done it less with #2 and this baby, mostly because I have lots of my talking time taken up by the kids outside of me, but if the baby kicks or wakes up or something, I'll talk to him/her in my head. Anybody else do this?

I'm trying to learn Spanish -- maybe I should practise on the baby

I love feeling/seeing the baby(ies) move. That is the biggie, and the thing I miss most once I'm not pregnant anymore.

I also like to admire my round belly in the mirror, like Anna posted about once in an earlier thread!

That's a good idea about practicing a new language on the babies; I've been wanting to learn Italian and even speak Italian to the children, what a great way to get started... (Matt's first language was Italian, but he only speaks it when he's in Italy or if his mother initiates a conversation in Italian.)

When I was pregnant with Jack, the thing I loved most was rubbing one of his little heels through my belly. It was also poking out the right side of my stomach, and I would rub it kind of how you would unconciously rub a little worry stone. After he was born, I would rub that little heel and it would feel exactly the same, and it was amazing to realize that this miraculous baby came from out of me!

I love that so many of us love our prenant bodies! I actually have a much better body image while I'm pregnant - and wear tighter clothes to show off my belly. Plus it doesn't hurt that my rising fundus makes a nice shelf for my "national geographic" boobs to sit on!

I'm actually looking forward to labor, too. Even though I had a hell of a time with Jack, I felt so POWERFUL. I love that being in labor connects me with every woman who has ever walked this earth and I consciously work on pulling down strength from them.
