I really want to only use wool but everything Ive tried (with a prefold under) is so bulky under clothes, so I thought a WIO would be a good idea for when we are out. I have a hidden pearl creations and I like it although I think its a little too big, and dont think they make them anymore. Anyway, What do you like?
Yeah, I was drooling over those, too, but that is WAY too much for a diaper. I have a Loveybums LIO (the interlock one). It is okay, but I can't judge it fairly because I bought too big a size. It still works very well, but it is so bulky. I think most of the WIO are really WI2 with snap out soakers. I know Sugar Peas also has one, but I haven't tried it (yet, I'm sure I eventually will).
I did find a wool pocket that is machine washable and doesn't require lanolizing. It is by Ecobubs in New Zealand. I ordered one a week or so ago but she said that it would take two weeks to ship plus delivery time so I don't have it yet.
Oooh those are nice colors! Maybe I should try the Loveybums. Would all snap ins that matched the size fit different brands of WIOs? Where can I get extra snap ins also? (used or new)
I'm not sure about whether one snap in will fit into another brand of cover. Probably not if I had to guess. I know that with Loveybums and Sugar Peas you can purchase the snap in separately. Loveybums also has a seconds page on their website where you can get them for a few dollars less.
Darn, I wonder if anyone has any that could check for me. Im trying to buy used bc I dont have a lot of money to spend. Thanks for the thoughts though!

I wouldn't recommend a WIO if your baby is pooping bmilk poops in diapers . . . The snap-ins really don't keep poop off the wool very well. My baby poops in the potty (most of the time), so I sometimes use WIOs, but the one time he did poop in one, it was a BIG mess. I prefer to use flats, pinned under wool for a trim fit (but still would find it too bulky for under pants, and the flat is trimmer than the snap-in).
The loveybums and sugarpeas are the most affordable option. I don't like the loveybums sherpa snap-ins, the organic ones are better, IMO. I haven't tried, but I'm almost certain you can't snap differnt brand of liners into different brands of covers, but you could certainly lay them in.
He almost always poops in the potty too and hardly ever if we are out. Hmm I think with the snap in I have it wouldnt be too bulky with pants on top, I didnt try it though, but you said a flat is trimmer and you still wouldnt want to put pants on top??
The trimmest Wool-in-one is a Daisy Doodle. She doesn't always have them, but you can email and ask her to make you one. Daisy Doodles are super trim and reasonably priced. They make fantastic diaper bag diapers, especially with extra snap-ins, because they are so small.
No, different snap-ins mostly will not work with other outers. You could ask the seller for the distance between the snaps, and if that is about the same, then they MIGHT work, but likely the crotch width and length are different, so they still probably wouldn't work.
Sugar Peas snap-ins are anything but trim. Absorbent and effective, good wicking, but not trim.

Bamboo is great because it absorbs so quickly and really distributes moisture... it also dries quickly. I haven't tried bamboo flats but would guess they would be FANTASTIC!
