right now, i steam vegies for ds (peas, carrots, sweet potato.) but reading the french fry thread, i decided that we are going to have baked mixed fries this week with russet and sweet potatoes cooked in some coconut oil.

can i give ds sweet potatoes that have been cooked in a light amount of coconut oil? what about olive oil--we eat lots of it, so can he have some yet?

oh, he'd he's 7 m.o. and has been having some solids for about a month--still consumes tons of bm.

I can't imagine why a little coconut or olive oil would be a problem. We had a pretty lax attitude about starting solids. If our son wanted to taste something (as long as it wasn't a chokable or a high allergen) we let him have a taste. Fats are great for babies' growing brains anyway, right?
