We co-sleep a bit oddly these days - I sleep w/ds (8 mos) and dh sleeps w/dd (4 yrs) for some part of the night most nights. I want dd to be able to join us in our bed for the true family bed experience, but dh worries about the two kids sleeping near each other (dd wants to sleep next to me rather than on the far side of dh). I do the old "nursing flip" so ds sleeps on both sides of me. What age do you all think it is appropriate for sibs to sleep side by side?

: my current plan is to invent some kind of double nurse-flip/swap.
ds will not be old enough to sleep without me. i think if i have dd sleeping/nursing on one side and ds sleeping on the other then we'll be cool....

That is what I have done.
When it was just Bobbie & Linda, Bobbie would sleep the night with Robert & he'd bring her in to me in the mornings as he left for work. Whenever I needed to do the flip & switch to nurse, I'd sit up, put Linda between my legs, move Bobbie, then move Linda & lay down.

Right now, Bobbie & Linda both sleep with Robert, so he leaves them in the mornings. They'll sleep a while together, but Linda eventually wakes up & comes to me to nurse. The way I have it set up this time is I stay between them & flip from one side to the other to nurse them (they both usually just take one breast per feeding, especially the early morning sleepy feeds).
