...out of a diaper or cover? I was trying to calculate what I paid for a diaper and then how many times I had used it on average to come up with whether or not I could justify buying some new things and either donating or storing some older diapers.

I just feel like if they are still good and sort of fit (getting snug) then I should use them to smithereens frugally speaking. How do you get past the voices of reason in your head when they argue with the voices of hyena-dom and excess?

Is that if you go ahead and buy MORE diapers, you will have a bigger stash, there by using each diaper less often, stretching its life span longer and longer, bigger rotation means longer lasting diapers, so you get MORE for your money (not really, but ya know I am deluded and liking it) At least that is how I explain it to my DH, I speak fast and wear a low cut shirt, he is too distracted to think much about the loop holes in my plan.....

Your not deluding yourself. I totally agree with you. Then again I'm not sure if I'm giving a biased opinion. :LOL

it then that tells me I am using it and it's money worth is being spent. On the other hand sometimes I sell stuff just to sell it and other times it is cause it does not hit my fancy that week. Really to be honest I am into prefolds and FMBG this week.

:LOL :LOL

I'll give that a try sometime!

I think being frugal is a great quality (one I hope to acquire some day). I have been fully sucked into the hyena world, but I tell myself that we still have a couple years left of diapering and they will be well-loved when we get done. I feel like I got my money's worth when dd has a major blow-out and I didn't get it all over my dry-clean only dress on Sunday morning.

Hmm, if low-cut shirt works for diapers, then maybe going topless could work for some fuz and wool soaker pants??

We could be on to something here ladies!

well, considering that I just finally caved in and traded for some new UBCPFs, and they were the first diapers I've gotten in almost 3 (yes, ladies, 3!!!!) years, I'd say I am WAY on the side of frugality, LOL. Those dipes went thorugh two kids too, and man, are they ever shot. Elastic's dead, little holes, etc. But I just keep thinking Ethan's going to potty train any day now (who am I kidding, I ask the kid if he want sto go int he potty and he say, "No mama, I'm a baby and I like wearing diapers!")

Now, soakers on the other hand...let's not talk about how many of those the kid has

Must try the low cut shirt! :LOL however, I tend to shop more when I'm mad at my husband, so I can get him back or something....you should see me, in front of the computer tossing things into the online shopping carts with 4 browser windows open, muttering "that'll teach him..." :LOL

I really got my moneys worth out of my ME OS dipes- used these for four years- with my 6 ecobably doublers. I no longer think of getting my moneys worth. I know that's terrible considering I was so frugal all those years. Forest is my last baby and I'm having fun with my last year of diapering. I definitely am not going to get my moneys worth out of some of this stuff.
