Your schedule is busy of housework, taking kids outside, working, doing other stuff, so when do you usually cook for the whole family and how long does it take, given that you don't have any help from your husband at anytime (My husband is very busy, so this is the case)?
Thanks.

I cook dinners. Thats basicly it. Occasionally I'll make mac'n cheese or soup for lunch, but mostly lunch is sandwhiches and/or leftovers. Breakfast is usually frozen waffles or pancakes or cereal. When we run out of waffles/pancakes I'll make a huge batch... but it tends to be a 'breakfast for dinner' thing as I tend to be way too lazy early in the morning to get motivated...

Dinner usually takes me about an hour or so to cook, so I start around 3:00-5:00 depending on the day and what we have going on (tues/thurs dinner needs to be ready by 5:30-5:45 at the latest, mon/wed dinner's around 4:00, weekends tend to be later around 6-6:30...).

We usually do oatmeal, eggs, or cereal/granola for breakfast so that is pretty "instant". Lunch is leftovers or snadwidhes, or cheese fruit and crackers also pretty quick. Dinner I cook on and off all day. The kids are buys doing somethingI grab the cutting board and prep the veggies. Then we move on they get busy again, I soak beans. You get the idea. I almost never prep and cook the meal all at once. I grab a few minutes here and there and put in a little prep work.

I cook dinner around 5 or 6. If I am doing something in the crockpot, obviously I do that earlier in the day. I tend to make one big meal that will then feed us for 2-3 days. One day I'll roast a chicken and make a side to go with it, then the next day we'll do bbq chicken sandwiches and fries, then the next day we'll have chicken fajitas and rice. If I make pasta, I'll make enough so we eat it for 2-3 days, same with pizza. Usually one day a week is random leftover day - the little bits of stuff leftover that is not enough to make a whole meal for everyone.

We have a hair salon that we run out of a studio off our home. My husband is the stylist, I do the marketing and books, and our hours are 10 to 6, so I try to start dinner around 5:30 so it's ready by the time the salon is closed. Usually I cook a big meal two or three times a week with enough leftovers to last a 2-3 days. On our off days, Sunday and Monday, dh usually cooks one meal that lasts for two nights... He does the dishes too at night since I cook the meals. He's a real treasure and I'm keeping him.

For lunches we have quick stuff like sandwiches or frozen meals. I'm in love with Amy's organic frozen meals.

We both WOH. Breakfasts are pretty quick affairs, plus they get a 2nd breakfast at the sitter's. They get a good hot lunch at the sitter's, too. The kids eat first, as they're both ready for dinner around 5:30...too early for us. We cook our own dinner after they're in bed, 7:30-8. Both dinners are necessarily quick and easy: pasta and sauce; bean burritos; occasionally curry or something if I have time to get it started while I'm making kids' dinner.

Our lives are pretty crazy. We don't do much housework at all except on weekends--cleaning is a Sat morning affair, though I *try* to keep up with laundry during the week (not always successfully).

Dh and I both wohm ft so breakfast is usually something really quick. Most weekends, I'll make a big batch of something and pack up so we can grab it and go. Same with lunches, otherwise its sandwiches.

Dinner I usually start by 5 or 5:30.
