Hi All -

Babe (6 mo) got her first pink eye a couple weeks ago. Cleared up quickly with breastmilk.

Then, the last few days, she wakes up goopy eyed...sometimes more, sometimes less, but it doesn't seem to be blossoming into anything.

I think she's past the plugged eye duct thing. Is this happening to anyone else? Can babes just have crusty mornings without concern?

Thanks in advance,

I just had this happen yesterday. Same story...then the crusties went away. My ds gets this sometimes at the start of an ear infection, but I don't think he has one. Hope you get some answers/replies.

Ds2 occasionally gets some goop in his eyes but it does not crust shut. As soon as I notice it I squirt milk in his eye at every opportunity.

I was going to post the same thing.

Pinkeye went around the house a couple of weeks ago. Everyone but me had it. It went away but now DD(4months) has started getting green goop in her eye off and on. It hasn't gotten bad where it is crusted shut like when she had pinkeye and is not constant. I figure breastmilk isn't going to hurt but am wondering too if it is pinkeye agian or something else.

Must be something going around, I myself woke up with a goopy eye yesterday morning, it seems better today. The one time I had pinkeye though my eye was crusted entirely shut, this wasn't like that. Can certain kinds of colds cause this? both DS and I have had mild sniffles for a few days.

nak...

i've heard it can be sign of sinus infection, but babe seems otherwise her happy self. not stuffy or coughing.

i guess i could put more milk in, but she hates it so much....

thanks for all the responses...

this happens to us on a regular basis. i asked the ped about it and she said it could be a clogged duct but a children's eye doctor wouldn't see us until he was older sooooooo we just deal. it doesn't seem to bother him so i don't worry about it. breast milk didn't work for us.
