It's a serious saying apparently...

This month is VERY VERY tight for us.

Yesterday my cell phone was twitching out. So, we went to the ATT store and they filed an insurance claim. We're being charged $50 in our next bill, and they're sending me a new phone. 20mins after we got home it started working fine again.

Today, I'm doing a load of laundry and walk into the kitchen to find it flooded (our laundry room is off the kitchen) I was washing the comforter so I thought MAYBE that had something to do with it. I started a regular load....nope. Something underneath is cracked or something because when I put my hand under there it was pouring water on me.

Seriously????

I don't know. I feel like I'm being tested or something. Ugh.

I hear ya. We are on a no-spending freeze until the month of June. I had to return to work from maternity leave 3 weeks early just so that when May 29th rolls around, we can receive some sort of income from my job. I only got paid for 6 weeks (half pay) and we thought it was going to be for 12. We are currently living on whatever DH just brought home (after bills and mortgage is paid as well as now 2 kids in daycare) and gift cards that we've had saved up for quite some time.

It sucks.

We've just gone through the same type of thing. Our water heater has crapped out (we get MAYBE 5 minutes of hot water a day) and right when we had the money to buy a new one dh hurt his shoulder and had to go to physical therapy (costing $200 a month, ugh) then ds1 puked all week resulting in a trip to the ER on a Friday, two days later dh was washing dishes and sliced his hand open on a glass that broke while he was washing it, ending in another trip to the ER for 6 stitches. Thankfully, we now have enough money and enough time has passed without a trip to the ER that we can get a new water heater. And, somewhere in there ds2 had an ear infection and had to visit the doctor.

Why is it that all this stuff has to happen at the same time?! After that month and a half I really wanted to pull my hair out.

It's one of those things where I need one anyway but have been putting it off. It doesn't hold a charge and takes more than a day to charge fully. Plus, I have no idea if it's going to freak out on me again.

We were able to find a local place that does appliance resale...so we can probably get a new washer for about $100

I totally understand.
In the last 3 weeks our dryer belt broke (not really a big deal with nice weather). Then the cars brakes died for the 3rd time. DH had 10 days to get the truck fixed up, E-tested and safetied. By that time we had enough to pay for the safety and the new license tags if it passed. It didn't. Another day off work to take it in and get it passed.
During all of that our water heater is leaking on the floor. I bit the bullet and called my dad and he bought us a water heater and my brother installed it for free. Well, we did feed him, LOL.
Now we just have to hold tight until tomorrow when DHs pay hits the bank.
Hugs to everyone going thru a rough patch. It'll work out.

Ugh, crap DOES happen in clusters. Hopefully this is the end of your cluster and you've gotten it out of the way for a good long while!

In the future about cell phones... we buy them refurbished for less than $10 off of the internet and just switch cards when we need a new one. We just make phone calls on our phones and that's it, though. We don't even do the text message thing, so we don't need expensive phones.

I hope things start looking up for you. Hang in there!
