I just found this link, and wanted to pass it on - so very sad.

Really sad how much this happens...my BIL experienced a manic episodes after starting anti-depression medication and tried to kill himself...thank god he had friends nearby. It makes me so : and I'm sure that a combination of medication and lack of support from society/family were the main causes of the tragedy in Omaha as well.

I'm not sure this video has a lot of credibility with me. It says "... was prescribed [medication]" but that doesn't mean they were actually taking it on a continual basis. I know that with Seung-Cho, the autopsy showed that there were no drugs in his system and he had refused to get treatment for over a year prior to the incident, so even though a doctor somewhere may have written out a prescription, he wasn't taking the medicine. Also, it says that he "killed 33 of his fellow students and faculty before killing himself," -- he killed 31. 32 in total were dead when it was over.

I don't think the fact-checking was very thorough.

Me neither. While I do think that psychiatric drugs are way over prescribed and overused, I don't think that they are *always* the cause of those incidents.

No, I am sure they aren't always the cause, but they are connected to a lot of situations. My mom works in a psych clinic and sees some really awful sad situations.

Am I the only one who got that song stuck in their head reading the title? I didn't watch the video, so I don't know if it's in there or not.

In my experience, drugs only add more challenges into the pile. At best, they're a cover-up. At worst is the poignant reality we're seeing here.
