I'm 15wks preg and my supervisor and co-workers know. I work for a fairly large company within a huge corporation so I'm hoping there's a pumping room somewhere. My work area doesn't have any place that will really work. Most of the areas aren't private or are workshops (dirty). I'm planning to ask HR but I'm thinking now would be a bit too soon? Or is sooner better? I'm planning on starting leave early/mid March and taking about 3 months off after birth. So, I'll probably return in Aug. Thanks!

I would smile, and say "Where shall I pump when I come back to work? I need an electrical outlet and a clean place to sit, and other people probably don't want to watch!" And it's never too early - they may need to rearrange things a little to make a space if they don't already have one. My old company cleaned out a storage closet, which sounds awful except that it had a window, a door, and two outlets!

Remember to smile when they first suggest the bathroom. Odds are they will. "No, think of it as I'll be doing food preparation - I need to keep anything that might touch the pump clean and fresh."
