I just found out a few days ago that my hubby and I are going to be having our first baby! No greater joy can be had.

I was feeling kind of weird for about a week and at 4 1/2 weeks along (LMP was 4/7) so took a home Early Response pregnancy stick test on 5/11/10 and low and behold , so went to my Fertility Specialist who did an HcG blood test and it was confirmed.

So far I've been having these symptoms....nausea (around same time of morning each day), light cramping, bloated, gas, general feeling like you have the flu, tired, feel like fever but it's normal, headaches, boobs tingly and just different, but my main early pregnancy symptom I always have (had a miscarriage 8/08) is that my eyes/contacts get super dry throughout the day....and I have to reapply eye drops many times in a day. That is NOT normal for me. Usually I put eye drops in my eyes like once in a great while...so my first clue to being preggers is the constant need for eye drops. I know...it's weird. So far I haven't found anyone else with this symptom...even my eye Dr. hasn't really heard of it before, so...I dunno, maybe it's unique to me.

I have had 2 chemical (doesn't attach to uterus correctly and thus early miscarriage) before my last pregnancy that ended in a miscarriage) and all 3 times I always crave snow crab meat. It's bizarre! Always with the crab! I got up at 2 am one time and stuffed imitation crab into my face standing in the kitchen, in the dark, while we had company over even! It was an insatiable craving, no a NEED that had to be filled. I've also craved watermelon (my loving dear husband went to Whole Foods and got one (in the middle of winter keep in mind, when it's OUT of season) and got me a tiny watermelon for....I'm NOT kidding....$16!) and I've been craving sushi. I know, I know....pregnant women and sushi don't mix. Well, actually, you CAN have some types of sushi while pregnant. You can have California roll, veggie rolls, etc. You just can't have raw fish on rice....that type of sushi. So...been stuffing my face almost daily on yummy sushi, soy sauce and that spicy orange sauce they have....OMG...it's so GOOD!

I'm curious to see what else I will have cravings for along the way. I just turned 5 weeks pregnant today, so I'm not that far along yet, but I can definitely tell the hormones are flowing! You just FELL different! It's fantastic!

Does anyone else want to share their early pregnancy symptoms, cravings and also...how far along you were when you found out and got your BFP?

Congrats mama! I'm due in January as well (come join us in the January Due Date Club). I am 5 weeks right now and just started craving Frosted Mini Wheats, of all things. I am having more aversions than cravings and the all day sickness is really picking up. Other than that, exhaustion is kicking my booty, and everything in my belly area is stretching and moving.

P.S. My LMP was 4/7 as well and I got my bfp on the 4th.

Congrats to you as well mamas2atti! Wow...that's really early to get a BFP. That's awesome. I would NEVER get one that early. I always get a faint line closer to 4 1/2 or 5 weeks along.

Yeah, I've had "morning sickness" all day as well, but some days are better than others. The other day hardly no nausea AT ALL, but lots of low back cramps! Then yesterday, ate lunch and BAM....my first pregnancy throw up! Ha! I was actually kinda excited by throwing up! It's the first official "pregnant chick" thing to do I guess.

So...I'm 6 1/2 weeks and have all the symptoms in the book:

nausea (morning sickness)
throwing up (well....only twice so far)
super sensitive sense of smell
mild occasional abdominal cramps/twinges
lower back cramping (more moderate for me)
cravings (so far coconut is my number 1 craving....along with snow crab)
dizziness (caused by slight dehydration)
food love to hate (now the smell and thought of it makes me sick)
breast soreness/tingling
frequent urination (not too bad yet)
nose bleeds (occasional)
bloating (Looks like I gained 5 lbs, but I haven't, just a tummy pooch)
gas (more than usual)
The feeling like you have the flu (tired, run down, feel like have fever, etc.)

And the most important.....

The ultimate feeling of overwhelming JOY of knowing that I'm pregnant and all these symptoms are normal, expected and totallyAWESOME!

They let me know that the HcG hormones are rising and that the pregnancy is going according to plan...it's what's supposed to happen, so it makes me happy. I don't mind being sick if it's something that is supposed to happen and not just a virus or bacteria causing you to be ill.

Does anyone else have any other symptoms not mentioned here? I'm very curious to see what other women out there have to say, what they are experiencing any week of their pregnancy! Shout it out girls!

Congrats mama!

I knew I was pg when I took a swig of my morning coffee and it tasted horrible. I took a drink, nearly gagged, and thought "Oh my gosh, I'm pregnant". This was about 10 dpo

Early on in both of my pregnancies I craved white grapefruit juice in a major-bad way.

Congratulations!!!!

I was about to make a post very similar to yours. I am not even quite 5 weeks along, and I have every symptom in the book! It feels surreal, like becoming an unwitting poster child for pg discomfort, and joy, too like you said.

I feel thick in my belly, nauseous, nauseous, nauseous and a little throwing up and full of cravings (spinach, spinach, spinach, ice cream, SUSHI---and I'm talking nigiri here, I want sushi so visually and viscerally), I get winded when I read aloud, I cry and laugh alternately all day long. I want to tell the world, and can't yet, for multiple reasons, but I'm sure my kids are all going to be in on it soon. I'm bloated and gassy, everything smells like it's exponentially cranked up in volume, and most things not in a good way. I'm a little bit dizzy and get little brain flashes that feel like whole brain synapses that always happen when I'm pg. I'm so exhausted and can't sleep very well, wake up at 5 like clockwork. My fingernails already feel stronger like they're growing faster. Bodies are crazy wonderful and quite a thing to inhabit.

The next question is: how long will all these alterations last????

And ditto on the YUCK response to the much adored morning coffee. I tried to get another kind, thinking I must just have developed a funny reaction to french roast, but no.

That's awesome and funny because when I was 4 1/2 weeks (when I took the BFP preg test) my hubby didn't believe me that I was already having symptoms and thought I was just making it up or it was "all in my head". Lol

That's hilarious because before getting pregnant I was a sushi-holic (mainly calf rolls, spicy tuna, etc. more than the raw fish on rice) and now...I tried it once and threw up and since then even the sight, smell or thought of the word sushi makes me wanna run and puke! That is totally my prior food love = now hate item for this pregnancy! I'm ALOT dizzy! And if drinking TONS of water (to help with dehydration) doesn't make it get any better in the next week am going to have them do a blood test to check my iron levels! It's aweful. This is the worst symptom so far besides the horrible back cramping! Arg!

I know right? I have 6 more weeks to go till week 13 and 2nd trimester begins and I'm out of the "danger zone" so to speak. I can't WAIT. Hopefully the early preg symptoms will disipate and then the maternity clothes fun will begin.

I am going to be 7 weeks tomorrow! Horray! So far...so good. The progesterone levels are back up to normal (from the medication I'm on) and Dr. said yesterday I only have to take them for 3 more weeks! THANK GOD! They are FREAKING expensive!

The one pregnancy symptom I totally forgot to mention that I have is that my hair falls out more in the shower! And I KNOW it's mine and not my long haired hubby's hair because his is brown and mine is dyed RED! Ha!

Im just going to post what I posted in the BFP testimonials page on TTC -

Because I have the time, Im no longer bouncing off the walls excited and can sit and read what I went through, I am going to list a bit better what went on during my TWW for yall

http://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/...rl/?i=3659120&

Pre-O much less EWCM than I usually get... obviously made NO difference

O day ...and I quote

2dpo went to go potty and saw two little drops of blood in my panties... very abnormal for me. I never spot, even at AF time but especially not at O time! cramping and crabby

5dpo started to not feel so good. Blaming this on the excitement and food from Christmas.

6dpo I had an odd pokey feeling and was convinced I was not pregnant due to that and the weird temp drop.

7dpo started to think I had a tummy bug (i had been feeling sick for two days at that point and my temp was rising) went out that night and was the last time I drank some very nice white wine. By 7dpo my breasts hurt every cycle... but not this one.

8dpo sick to my stomach... the kids got these toys that stunk SO bad even from the back seat (DF couldnt smell them, to me they smelled like burnt plastic) exhausted (blamed it on staying up all night waiting for DF to come home from drinking and taking care of him while he got sick) Felt hungover enough that DF finally caved and bought me a 2 pack of FRER

9dpo BFN FRER FMU. Still felt sick. Temp was still up convincing me maybe I was just sick. Jumping on the trampolines that night had me have some problems with incontinence (not usually a problem for me) and what felt like RLP and probably was.

10dpo http://i235.photobucket.com/albums/e...y/P1060770.jpg yeah no doubt about it thats a BFN. I was heartbroken and convinced that that meant I was most definitely not pregnant. Convinced at this point I dont WANT to be pregnant as DF is super excited for our huge wedding and I didnt want to have to cancel it (which we did end up having to cancel) Nose started bleeding each time I blew it. Just a little but odd... wrote it off to dry winter air. sick to the point that while we were bowling I would have to sit down to rest and kept an eye on the bathroom to make sure it was open if I had to run in.

11dpo still sick very moody but df was about to leave That night I thought I saw a line. http://i235.photobucket.com/albums/e...vampy/bleh.jpg

12dpo breasts still felt fine. Still sort of sick to my tummy. that mornings test: http://i235.photobucket.com/albums/e...ampy/12dpo.jpg later in the day I got http://canyouseealine.com/hpts/5131.jpg but still was not convinced.

13dpo sickness so bad I am finally convinced it is morning sickness. Got my first FRER bfp that morning/afternoon. http://canyouseealine.com/hpts/5152.jpg of course, anyone without line-o-vision cannot see it... but it is so very there!

14dpo AF due, doesnt show. A couple more lines on ICs and another one on FRER... still really light but ever so obviously there.

15dpo as I called them... heart crushing signs of AF. Which now I know is perfectly normal pregnancy symptoms! http://canyouseealine.com/hpts/5182.jpg no doubt as of this day.

to add to it -
around 8 weeks i started puking
at almost 9 weeks i started feeling kicks
at 9 weeks I had an ultrasound and saw her in there (of course didnt know she was a she yet)
at 12 weeks walking long distances was starting to be a problem
at 21 weeks had another ultrasound, found out shes a she and saw her yawn, play with her fingers, wiggle around a bunch and repeatedly kick my cervix (very odd to SEE it while you FEEL it lol)
22 weeks - around when my morning sickness seems to have finally started to go away!
at 23 weeks, in a lot of pain, diagnosed with SPD (explains why I couldnt walk the mile anymore at 12 weeks) - also heartburn has started
now 24 weeks!

I have decided that the puffer fish is the perfect example of how these early pregnancy bloating feels. Before pregnant I felt normal and skinny and now....since I found out I was pregnant almost a month ago I feel like a huge round blown up puffer fish! Bloated, fat and not feeling like your normal self. Not big enough for maternity clothes and your regular pants are getting tight. What to do? I guess just suffer through it for a few more weeks!

I think I will email my Mom and tell her this as well and attach a couple pics and show her a puffer fish to make her day. Lol

Well, I'm no longer craving coconut. At all. Like I really don't even want to think about eating it.

I am however craving lots of peanut butter lately. And choc. but who doesn't?

And milk. I enjoy milk normally, but since I've been pregnant I drink it almost every day, which is not the norm for me.

Also crave cheese, pork N beans (which I haven't had in years) and Taco Bell bean burritos. I think I could eat one every day, but am making myself not.

What cravings have you been having?

Before my BFP (within days of conception) I ATE. We were on vacation and I was DISGUSTING with how much I ate. I still cannot believe how much I could eat and not throw up. That lasted til about the BFP, and I have had trouble eating ever since (30 weeks now). I have wondered if my body knew what was coming and tried to force in 10,000 cals a day in preparation.

The only other symptom I had was a strong aversion to alcohol. Our vacation was to have and celebrate the (late) baptism of my older daughters so with the parties etc wine was flowing freely. I normally love wine but its like my body was literally holding it away from me, I couldnt swallow it.

After that, I had nothing til 6 weeks ish when I got sick.

Ha ha...that's funny! I know what you're talking about. I've been on 2 cruises and I gained 5 lbs on one and 7 lbs on the other! They are a downright pig out fest aren't they? Can you blame yourself for eating 5 times a day when they provide a midnight buffet and pizza bar? It's NOT fair! Lol But it sure is tasty!
