I'm not sure when my next one will be, but I'm looking forward to it! The only one I've had was at 7wks and the baby wasn't moving yet~so it'd be nice to see him/her wiggling around.
Between 16-18 weeks. I want to make sure everything is normal before we attempt a home-birth. Also, I want to know the gender! I was so sure my daughter was a girl and this time around I don't have much of a gut feeling...

Last time was 12 weeks. My midwife said not to worry because I was really only 10 weeks pregnant and if she doesn't hear it in the next two weeks then to go for an ultrasound.
I am worried though because everyone seems to hear it at 12 weeks - meaning the pregancy date, not conception, which I was at as well ...
Confusing and scary.

awww that is scary!
: for you and your little bean! Maybe he/she had there back to the doppler, making it hard to hear the HB. when the nurse got mine at 11wks, my placenta kept drowning out the heartbeat but she kept trying. So it could be that too
I'll have a level 2 u/s at about 17 weeks due to my "advanced maternal age." I don't even know what level 2 means, but I have to go to a special facility to get it. Does anyone else know?
Dunno about the level 2 stuff....hope it turns out well!
Elsaraw, we tried to get a HB with doppler at our first appt (which, as best I can guess, I was about 12 weeks LMP--I only had 2 cycles since ds2 was born though, and they were kinda screwy, so I'm not POSITIVE about my dates--I could be further along) Anyway, we were just barely able to get the HB for just an instant, and although she spent a long time trying to find it again, we just couldn't. So don't worry too much, Mama! Maybe it's just a sneaky baby, flying under the radar!
We aren't planning to do any U/S ourselves, but if it turns out down the line that we think my dates are way off, we might consider it. Of course, by then, U/S wouldn't be much help in getting accurate dating, so it's prolly a moot point. Not a big deal--I have a tendency of going early, so I doubt we'll get to a point of being too concerned about it.
Elsaraw, we had SUCH a hard time hearing it at 14 weeks. The placenta is anterior and the baby was hiding big time. We finally got it after a VERY long time. I am sure you will hear it soon!!
As far as an u/s we are not getting one. I am on my fourth baby with no reason to worry (that we know of) and at this point I don't want the pressure about aborting if something is seriously wrong and would rather just grieve at home after the birth with my baby in my arms.
Something has been nagging me this entire pregnancy. Something I have never felt before when pregnant (that I remember!!) -- so I almost feel like something is up and I am trying to find peace with it, trust the process and enjoy my homebirth. Most likely it's just nerves because I feel like I am asking fate for a LOT to give me a fourth healthy child.
But anywhoo, no u/s for me. 99.9% sure, unless something warrants it specifically and right now there's nothing.
I'm having my level 2 u/s on July 10. Level two is when they measure all of baby's parts, look at organs, the brain and heart chambers, determine gender (if you want, of course).
I really appreciate everyone's kindness and words of encouragement! I'm going next wed or thurs to mw to check for heartbeat again, I will be 12 weeks from conception, if we can't hear it I'll ask for u/s. I can't take it. (and I didn't want an u/s at all!)
I'm also worried because I can't stop squezing (? sp!) my abdomen (like sucking in your stomach) I'm not doing it on purpose but it's not involuntary though. And sometimes it hurts. A long time ago I had an ovarian cyst and my body did the same thing - I wonder if it's just reacting to something "foreign" in there?
Sorry to go on so
I have not even had U/S number 1 yet, which is absolutely unacceptable considering my history of blighted ovum and twin pregnancies - I am so mad!
I am going on Tuesday at 13 weeks for my first (and maybe only) U/S since they try pay for a few u/s as possible.
