here -- nak, of course

Not much to update here -- DD's new favorite thing to do is make up her own songs (usually to tunes she already knows). Pretty funny

What's everyone else up to??

Hi. I'm a March '05 mother! I've never posted on these sorts of threads because they tend to get long, which is too overwhelming for me, lol.

Anthasam: My ds is also starting to make up his own songs! He is also starting to make up his own stories while "reading" his books.

He still nurses a LOT and he's a very picky eater. He went pee in tthe potty this morning (yay!) but he's still more interested in wearing diapers.

Emma is doing good....she is obsessed with baby powder and gets really mad when i wont let her touch it (we had an incident with the BP last week which resulted in most of my bedroom rug getting covered)! She's also talking up a storm in her own little language of course....it's soooo funny b/c she gets this serous voice and face and it's hard not to laugh b/c i have NO CLUE what she;s saying!

Yey! There are my March '05 buddies! I have been going through a lot personally so I have not been around lately - sorry! I move to AZ in a few weeks after the semester is over so I will be taking lots of new pictures soon! Kiera is talking up a storm. She has me nurse her doll constantly when she nurses which I find hilarious. I also get to nurse many other toys; today it was one of her Elmo slippers and then later I got to nurse her sister and a stuffed bunny... She is also throwing tantrums and definitely knows her own mind. Yep. She is definitely two.

I'm here! DD is 3-31-05, so just barely made it in March! She's halarious, definately 2 though! She's talking SOOOO much. We really have to watch what we say. Today when I bumped into the highchair, she rolled her eyes and say "Oh Lord!" And she told the dogs to "shut your hole pie!" (Thanks mom!) Despite all the 2 year old-ness in her ,she's the light of my life, and I love her so much!

Since I never see a thread for February 05, can I join you guys?

My guy is also starting to sing songs and it just warms my heart. His words are starting to come like crazy. No PT'ing on the horizon here.

Hi March Mamas!

Jen, congratulations! I hope everything is going well and that you aren't too exhausted. Great to hear from everyone else, both old and new.

About singing: yah, Jonah's into that, too. He sings actual songs, but you'd never recognize them: Rockamybaby top top top is Rockaby Baby (a song we both hate; he learned in from a lullaby cd he likes); Happy Nana is Happy Birthday Jonah. It's very cute.

He *was* potty trained, more or less, for about a month, and then he totally regressed. Very odd. So now we're back in diapers. But it's spring and even though the weather still isn't consistently great here, we're out and about on our bike and reconnecting with Jonah's buddies from the park. And he loves his friends! Asks for them all by name constantly.

He's also quite sporty, which honestly, baffles me and dp. He's very agile with a soccer ball, loves any sport where there's a ball, loves to watch older boys playing any sport. Maybe he'll be an athlete!

Plans for dc#2 currently on hold, which is a good thing. Less pressure.

Still also nursing *alot*. Sometimes it's irritating, but mostly it's sweet. It keeps him cuddly (with me, at least), reminds me how little he still is even though he seems so big sometimes.

Oh, it's late. I'll tune in later to read more.

I didn't see a June thread for the March 2005 mamas so I will post here. Logan is also "singing" a song or two. If that's what you want to call it..He made up a song one night in bed,

"Mama Logan Mama Logan Mama Logan Mama Logan Mama Logan Mama Logan"
(to no tune in particular)

I said,"Is that a song you made up?"

Logan: "UMMMMM ,yeah."

"Can you sing it again?"

"UMMMMM, no"

He also asks for the book "Goodnight moon" and for me to recite the story of the three bears alot at bedtime.

He says something new everyday...I can't keep up remembering what the newest thing is!!!

I'm here! Abby is amazing. Really we are having alot of fun together. It's exhausting, but well, that's life with a toddler! We are working on sleep (when aren't we?!) just having a more regular bedtime and naptime. Today she napped for 10 minutes, so this evening shall be interesting! She's talking up a storm, and has recently begun to have 'Daddy dates" for a few hours once a week. It's SOOOOO nice! I can sew, read or go online in peace and quiet! She is climbing the walls lately too, what a monkey! Nice to see you all!

Hi There-

Another March '05 mama here. Leif is busy, but so much fun. He too does the singing thing, haha. He's also really into hockey, playing tackle with daddy, and putting on makeup He still asks for "nursies" all day long, but is thankfully going a little longer at night.
Hope this thread turns into a monthly thing!

Where in AZ are you moving? We're in Mesa (moving to student housing soon). Would love to get together sometime! Don't know many like-minded mamas around these parts

Oh I hear what your saying with the daddy dates! Isa is going fishing with papa tomorrow and I'm so pleased! She loves to sing as well and the other day came up with this one:

Isa wants to play outside with Papa
But Mama sais come inside
She sais come, come baby
Come come baby
Wipe your feet and come inside.

No joke! With melody and everything! DP got out his guitar and started playing around with it and now we all sing it all the time and she'll say, "That's the first song I ever wrote." Stanford - here we come! This age is really cool but sometimes it's so hard to match all of her energy and enthusiasm no matter how much I'd like to. I can't believe how fast it's going. I was just telling DP how lately I feel like there is a kind of disconnect with DD (it's really hard to describe exactly) that I think just boils down to her not being my little tiny baby anymore. (I'm so glad we still nurse!) To this my DP sais that he feels just the opposite because he can finally do things like go fishing with DD or take her to the zoo or whatever and it's really fun for them. Any of you other mama's feeling this way?
