so, i've looked at and participated in other similar conversations, but what i'm REALLY LOOKING FOR IS...

a Maternity/Nursing tank w/ a built in bra.

something that i can wear through pregnancy, long and stretchy, that i will be comfortable in postpartum and use for nursing, and that will just be a long shirt again for as long as i nurse.

the nursing tanks i've seen so far seem to be for women who have lost their prego weight and want a slimmer fit, but i'd like it to work NOW. surely there are nursing tanks out there that are of very forgiving cut!

i hope someone has some advice for me. thanks!

oooo...let me know if you find one. My two year old sometimes likes to stick his arms in legs in my shirt while nursing or pull it up, so something like this may come in handy. I've started looking chubby in the middle without enough definition to look pregnant.
alot of these nursing tops look like they're covering pregnant bellies. they may work.

this says you can wear it while pregnant.
hm, thanks samstress!

the old navy ones don't look like they have a bra built in, but the bravado ones sure do. i'm going to edit my first post to specify that.

more please!!

Glamour mom apparently makes one...but I'm having a hard time locating one on the internet. But, I KNOW I saw it in an ad.
Oh, and if you happen to have a long torso, I wouldn't hold out any hope for the ON stuff. They weren't long enough for my last pregnancy.

I know this is a personal question- tell me to shut it if you want to- but what bra size are you?
I'd love a tank with a built in bra for pregnancy/nursing but I'm a DD now and will probably get bigger and I don't want to look like that grouchy cartoon lady with the boobs down to her knees. (please tell me someone else knows the old lady that I'm talking about. She's on some caledars, too. She's very witty)

I know who you are talking about...Maxine!

Anyway, I've owned a bunch of nursing tanks, and all of them have the shelf bra. I am a C cup while nursing and it works, but I don't think it would be comfortable at all for larger women.

Hotslings makes a nursing cami, but I think it only has a shelf bra in it and I am not sure if it's going to be long enough. Ok, so I really don't know much about it other than they sell a nursing cami. It's worth a look to see if it would work. http://www.hotslings.com/nursing_app...ing_cami_black

Target sells nursing cami's with a shelf bra. I personally dont like them because they are short and I have a long torso but I know plenty of ppl who do. They are in the bra section, packaged.

I love the ON tanks, hated the motherhood nursing tanks, and am currently wearing a Gillian and O'Malley tank (from Target) that's really comfy, nice and long, and very supportive of my currently-40DD -but-will-get-up-to-at-least-H boobes.

Oh, and I really want a glamourmom tank 'cause I hear such great things, but totally can NOT justify the $40 on a tank top.

OOO Thank you for that rec (and disclosing the boob size LOL). I'm going to have to check those out. You've probably just helped a bunch of us

Oh, honey, you got nothing on me. I'm a 34G right now. My nipples and my navel are VERY good friends.

Honestly, I bought regular tanks, and I wear a nursing bra under them. It cost me about $40 less per outfit.

That's a good call too. The only caveat I had with doing that was mine hurt so darn bad that lifting my arms over my head more than once to put on more than one shirt is miserable. If I don't wear nursing tanks, well, I usually just don't wear a shirt.

And Mandy - I'll be glad to get my nursing boobs back, 'cause they're so pretty, but am not looking forward to trying to cover them again.

thanks, ladies! those glamourmom ones look great! most of the others don't look like prego tops in addition, but thanks for the recommendations

i'm glad this thread can help out other women with various aspects of boobage. i'm usually a Bcup, and already a C at 7 weeks (OMG - 7 weeks today!), and have no clue what's going to happen, but i'm thinking it's realistic at my size to use tanks and NOT bras a lot - maybe even exclusively.

i figure $40 for something i can wear for the next several years is a good deal!

THESE FIT THE ORIGINAL QUESTION:

Bravado

Glamourmom

thanks especially to samstress, cersha, and riverbeauty
