Where can we get a mesh feeder for our 7 mo old?

And - what would you recommend we put in it?

I saw some mesh feeders one www.onestepahead.com. I've been told that fresh fruit is great for putting in them, though I haven't used one yet.
We found our mesh feeders at a local baby gear store (i.e., they sell strollers, furniture, bottles, pumps, clothing etc etc).

If DD is teething I put frozen stuff in, like cubes of breastmilk, banana, or(cooked) squash. Otherwise, it is usually fruit such as pears or nectarines. The nice thing is, you don't have to peel the fruit - just cut it up into pieces small enough to fit in the mesh bag.

She's cutting her molars so today she's getting frozen banana!
I found mine at babies'r'us. My girls would only eat fruit out of it so just about any kind of fruit you could think of we tried in it....Bananas and mangos are HORRIBLE to get out of the mesh part though.
They have them at Target in the baby supplies section.
We ordered ours via Amazon. They shipped from etoys, I think.

FWIW, my seven month old won't have anything to do with them. Chews on the handle and then drops it in favor of something more interesting. He will eat/chew on pieces of fruit/veg that he can hold in his fist. If he bites off a chunk that's too big, he spits it right back out.

For more on letting babies finger feed themselves, check out this site.
Those things are icky & weird!

We found them at Target. Like pp have said, it's next to impossible to clean banana out of them. I never use them for fruit anymore.

They're great for hot weather, though. I feel safe letting my son have an ice cube in a mesh feeder. I also like using them for sharp foods like crackers.
They always have them when I go to Target. I use to have 3, one for fruits one for Veggies and one for any kind of meat.
They are great for ice cubes. It was the one thing that really helped us during the worst of the teething.
They also have them at Walmart if you aren't against going there. We did grapes, apples, frozen cooked apple slices, gee I can't even remember what else right now. I always loved the idea of them. The reality is that ds didn't use it as much as I thought he would. I did give him an ice cube in it the other day when it was really hot out. He didn't chew on it as much as I thought he would, but it was a safe way for him to play with it.
We took ours back to the store after seeing my niece eat some items from Thanksgiving dinner out of her mesh thingy. It grossed me out totally and completely.

I could see how they would be useful for an ice cube but you can also fill up those cute Under the Nile organic veggie teething toys and freeze them and the kid can have it by themselves and go to town with no choking threat.

I just think they are kind of gross when people put food in them.

Don't be discouraged from trying it. It's no more gross than your baby grabbing a handful of banana or something, smushing it over and over again through his fingers until it's unrecognizable , and then smushing it all into his mouth.
My ds doesn't use his often, but he has fun when he does. Our favorite food is grapes. I love grapes and it makes it easy for him to try it.

If you try banana and similar foods, just soak it in some soapy water as soon as dc is done then spray the bits out. I haven't had any trouble cleaning mine. Have fun!

Oooh - can anyone point me to the Under the Nile teethers? We've got lots of Under the Nile and that's more our style...than...Walmart (we don't go do Walmart)...

I put a frozen banana in mine... DS had no interest in the frozen banana and I had no interest in cleaning the mesh with mushed banana. So, I threw it away.

I got mine from drugstore.com. I needed to spend $25 to get free shipping so I threw one of those onto my order. We've been putting frozen mango in it b/c DD is teething. You do have to clean it right away, though.

(Nice use of the fonts & colors feature, as usual!

My son loves his. We put plums and watermelon in now but we first got it for teething purposes and just put ice cubes in it. As for the gross factor, I wash mine as I would any other item that goes in his mouth and like his pacis I put them in the medela microwave sterilizing bags after he uses them.

We got ours at Target but BBB and BRU has them too
