I have been reading so many threads-my head is spinning! I am blessed with a newborn that sleeps thru the night, (don't worry, my other 3 did not!) but I am awake thinking of all that I read on here!

Where should I start to clean up my home/health? We already eat pretty good (except DH) and we bf, cd, no-vax, use homeopathy. My daughter, newborn, and I have stopped soap-with ok results on me-still missing my poo?!
But as far as other cleaners, lotions, plastic, where do I start?

Thanks for your help!

Best advice I can give is don't bite off everything at once! Makes the family unhappy!

I'd just pick one or two things you want to try and just do it till it feels natural, then keep going. You'll find your pace.

We've gone natural for cleaners but we still use plastics as I'm just not ready to ditch them yet. I try not to feel bad for all the stuff I'm not doing.

The first thing I did (after switching to cloth diapers) was start making my own cleaners. I have the book Clean House, Clean Planet. My favorite recipe is Mama's Earth Mop. If you'd like the recipe, pm me.

I second the CLEAN HOUSE CLEAN PLANET recipes. That will give you a domino effect, truly. ONce I started eliminating those toxins, I started looking around at the other things, namely plastics for food storage. As an experiment, Ive taken all the plastic and bagged it in the garage, to see if we could live wo it. Ive got 2 sets of pyrex storageware, and love it. Im not missing it, unless we are going out somewhere, to the pool, and I cant bring glass.

For me, the other thing that started me going was YOGA. When I got into going to a yoga class, was when I went vegetarian. I dont know if that is a concern for you, or if you already are, but summer is an easy time to make more healthier meat-free food, with very little baking involved.

Congrats on the new baby........and your mindfullness to explore a healthier lifestyle!

Start with the water you drink and bathe in. Then the air you breathe. The food you consume. And everything will fall into place. Get some air/water filters, make your own cleaners, toss out the boxed food... more advanced things would be making homemade bread, getting rid of the carpet/furniture, getting rid of plastics, getting rid of anything disposable... and that all takes time. Relax.

Thanks for all the helpful info! I don't eat meat nor do three of the four kids. Cannot convince dh and one son has to be just like daddy-gonna work on that one, too. We don't eat fast food or box meals, but only buy organic about 30% of the time. I am looking foward to reading that book and clearing my house of all these cleaners. Wow, how will I spend the money I save??
