For our bed we use a water resistant matress pad which goes on under the fitted sheet. On top of the fitted sheet I put down a vinyl backed mattress pad which absorbs liquid really well. I bought both of these items on amazon.

Good luck.

We bought a great one when we purchased our new bed when ds was 1 mo old. It is a sealy breathable matress cover. You DO NOT want to do vinyl, it is hot, sweaty, and not breathable. This one keeps out the wetness, but allows you to breath through some kind of terry type material. Very nice. Keeps your expensive bed safe from all those baby fluids.

I think this is it, but I can't be sure...dh ordered ours off eBay, before our boycott.

Try a mattress store, they should have some good ones!

We have a terry-cloth w/a PUL lining similar to the above that I bought at a waterbed store. I
it!!! It's never leaked.
