where do you buy your CD?

I was wondering how many people have stores in their towns that sell a variety of cloth diapers and products. For those that don't sew, does everyone buy online? We only have one store that only sell Kushies and it's a non-profit store. I was thinking what a good idea it would be to have a store that sells all the brands of cloth diaper b/c when I was doing research on them myself, I was very overwhelmed! I would have loved to be able to touch and feel them myself and also talk to someone who was knowledgeable in CD.

no local stores, I had to buy all of mine online. It would have been so much better to have been able to see things before I bought
the sad thing is, we don't even have a natural foods store closer than an hour and a half away, much less a cloth diaper store. I live in a dual-military branch town and there are SO many mainstream people around here it's just sick. I buy my basics at www.naturalbabies.com or www.wildflowerdiapers.com or here on MDC's trading post. I knit so I'm constantly hitting up the yarn stores for supplies and I've made a few diapers in my diapering career so I buy cheap flannel at wal-mart for diaper making or wipe making. Otherwise, it's all online shopping unfortunately. I'd LOVE to see a cloth diaper or natural foods/clothing/products store in my area. If you live anywhere near Fayetteville, NC and you want to open one of those stores, you have my EVERY blessing!!!!!!!

The only thing we have is a second hand children's store and they sell used stuff, but one of the owners makes her own covers and dipes. She makes "recycleze", buys thrift store clothing and makes it into stuff.

We have another store that just sells one brand (I think kushies) but they are moving to a new location and having a HUGE sale at the moment so I'll be going again in another week or so. I will mention to her that I really think she should expand her dipe selection. Maybe the demand is just not that great in any one location and that is why online seems to be the way we have to shop.

Another option (and I learned of this lady here) http://www.zannadu.com/ is about an hour from me will actually come to your house (for a fee) and give you a demonstration and bring all kinds of stuff for you to check out. If you had a play group or something like that and you could split the cost between the group it might be nice to do if you could find someone in your area that sells and would be willing to travel.

I went to the LLL league regional conference and there were two vendors selling CDs. It was sooooooooooooo nice to touch and feel brand new diapers, covers, soakers, etc. I was so very happy LOL. I found out from one of the vendors that a WAHM sells her diapers in a consignment store near me.

We have an actual store here, in NE Tennessee that sells cloth dipes---even some organics and WAHM stuff (LoveyBums)

Ye-Haw!!!! We are lucky!!!

My aunt lives in Belfast, Maine and there is a store in her town that sells cds too. It is called The Green Earth Store (I think) Anyhoo, they have a small, but nice, selection there. I never would have thought to look, so maybe there are other examples like that too...cds sold in places you wouldn't have originally thought???

I've seen *some* in different consignment shops, but no CD stores in AZ that I'm aware of... I've bought at sites I see advertised on MDC, including nopins4baby.com & mothereve.com. I've been very satisfied with both sites and their service. Mothereve is helping me do an online cloth diaper shower for my preggers SIL.

I buy almost all my cloth online but...

There's a couple of stores here, can't think of the name of one but the other is Under the Cabbage Leaf. They sell HH's and CPF's and proraps and such
In fact I think I'm gonna go there this week to get some more prefolds.

I pfds from Whole Family Market www.wholefamilymarket and Babyworks www.babyworks.com. I also buy my Nikki cover at Babyworks. I buy my Airflow covers from Mother Ease www.motherease.com
It would be wonderful to have a store carrying a variety of the more popular brands.
I am lucky. There is a consignment shop here about 4 miles from me that sells new and used CDs. She has FBs, Kissaluvs, Bummis Super Whisper Wraps, and a few others. And of course, whatever used dipes come in that are random. They also sell new Melissa and Doug toys and Baby Legs. Its fabulous!! I often order online just because I can get a better deal if I am buying a lot, but its great to get a few things, etc. Also, I registered there and got lots of gift cards for my shower.

A new store just opened up not far from us in VT, it's called Sprout, and it's in Brattleboro VT. I spoke with one of the women there who worked there and she said that they only carry diaper lines there that the owner has tried on her dd and likes. There were a few varieties there, angel wraps, the ever present loveybums, and kushies. She also carries under the nile and a bunch of wooden/waldorf toys. It's a great shop and sooooooo tempting to spend way too much money there every time we go!

Oh no! Here I am trying to save $$ and you go and tell me about a great store not 15 minutes from me! LOL I need to keep the diaper buying in check because it appears my dd is realling getting the hang of the potty! Success x3 today including one poopy!

There's a shop in Kailua here that has information about a local diaper service, but she doesn't sell any cloth
I don't have much of a showy stash yet, and everytime I've dropped in it's been with dd in her plain but awesome navy blue fleece cover - so not as "cute" as she could be.

:

I am in her Yahoo group and she has been doing workshops now that are free (that I am aware of...or a small like $10 fee) if you can attend one. She travels with them and sets them up in Library meeting rooms and other places. If you go to her online store or join the yahoo group you can find out where they are. I wish I lived on the same side of the country so I could go to one!!

We have a toystore in town here that sells Kushies and Under the Nile fitteds and I talked to them about carrying more and they said they had been considering it but the lady didn't know what exactly what the owner was going to order so she couldn't tell me any more. But I told her to tell the owner I was interested and would buy my dipes there if they stocked them!

I'm also in Houston and have gotten some used diapers at the Young and Restless Re-sale shop. We also have some wahms that have on-line stores and you can go to their houses for local pick-up. BUT, I bought most of mine on-line because of better deals and more selection. I do like to have the local option, though, so I can try new kinds of used diapers or run there for some snappis or wet bag.

I live in the DFW Texas area. There really aren't any places in the area. I ordered everything online from quite a few different stores. I am in Austin this weekend and looked up places that sell cd here and found 4!
: I have already been to 2. At one store they had quite a few different ones and I was in heaven.
I had a blast just holding and rubbing each one.
I loved being able to hold them and check them out before buying. That's the big downside to buying online.
