I'm cleaning house, and have a ton of stuff that I'd like to donate. I have books, clothes, some baby stuff, kitchen stuff, etc.

Do you know a place that will take these items for a good cause? There doesn't seem to be a salvation army close by, so I'd love some ideas.

TIA!

I think Trenton Rescue Mission will pick up even that far away, if you have a lot of stuff. My dad drives for them as a volunteer once a week, and I've heard him talk about going as far as Warren County. They set up poor families in Trenton with the things they need to live more comfortably. They help single mothers in trouble, provide a soup kitchen and shelter for homeless folks, and they help people recovering from addiction. I don't think they take books, but I'm not certain about that. They will take all the other stuff, though.

Here's the website:

This is such an awesome group it's www.freecycle.org
You post things you no longer want/need and someone will e-mail you who can use it and pick it up. You jion for your local area and you can also respond if you see something offered that you can use. 2 rules, it must be legal and it must be free.
I love this group and have been happy with it for over a year now.
