I have about 18 ounces of frozen breastmilk I pumped and froze in August. I'm not going to have a use for it, so I'd love to donate it.

However, the quantity seems too small to go through a lot of paperwork for a milk bank. Does anyone have any advice about easy ways to get this milk to someone who can use it? I hate to dump it if it can be used. (And I'm certainly open to a milk bank -- I just can't spend a ton of time on this.)

Thanks for ideas!

Try milkshare.

Here's info about it: http://milkshare.birthingforlife.com/

And here's where you can join the Yahoo group and post about your donation: http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/MilkShare/

I donated, and found a really wonderful woman locally that fostered and adopted three kids, the youngest being the one who needed the milk. He was a meth baby and wasn't gaining weight w/ formula. I still keep in touch with her and we share photos. It really is a wonderful thing you are doing, and the recipients of the milk are so-o-o grateful (usually). Good luck!
