My midwives don't carry any of the "standard" post birth stuff such as eye drops, pku screening paper, and vitamin K.
I'm not gonna do the drops, but feel like Vitamin K seems fairly harmless, as there are no conclusive studies showing problems with giving oral K to newborns, as oppossed to many studies showing that breastfed babies are at risk for vitiman k bleeding disorders ( the ONLY thing breastfed babies have a risk for that formula fed babies do not).
While, instinctually I feel like my breastmilk doesn't produce vitiman k for a reason, I still want to be sure.
Anyway, where the hell do I order infant doses of oral vitiman k from? It has to be repeated so I'd need at least a few 1mg doses.
Thanks.
