Tumblers seem like a great idea but they get too heavy to turn easily long before they start producing compost. I recommend Earth Machines, <a href="http://www.earthmachine.com" target="_blank">www.earthmachine.com</a> It is very efficient and the door at the bottom makes access easy. Personally I basically took the door off and leaned it against the machine to make it even easier.<br><br>

Yup, consumor reports tested a bunch of them, and the tumbling kind (they tested two or three types?) ranked consistently at the bottom. They also recommended the kind with the door at the bottom, if I remember correctly...it's been a few months since I was online on that page. Hope that helps SOME, anyway...
