which fabric for a wrap???

How old / how much does your dc weigh?
If it's a newborn, I'd suggest a jersey knit (soft t) material. That will only work till 25 or so lbs. It will be super soft, though and feel like heaven.
If your dc is a little older, or this is going to be your only wrap, I suggest a cotton weave. I bought a salmon colored cotton gauze at joannes and I LOVE it. I can't say how much I love it!!! (and it's definately doable with a newborn - just not as soft/moldable - which is perfectly ok).
