Just to have around, for occasional use. I have the old fashioned medela hand pump, which is not very comfortable. I am thinking about a newer style, supposedly more comfortable one, to replace the one from 10 years ago. Which to get- Avent Isis or Medela Harmony?

I liked my Isis, no experience with the Harmony. I liked the cushining, massage petals that the Isis has. I got just as much milk from it as I do the Medela PIS, but a manual pump and working full time don't exactly mix too well.

In the hospital I had great results with their Medela. Then I rented a Medela Lactina Select- was almost as good.<br>
Now I bought a PIS- not quite as good, but really sufficient. I used the piston part from the Lactina, that turns into a manual- gee, what a workout, I would never do anything manually again- unless it's 3 ml for mixing with medication.

I think you will be happy with either the isis or the harmony. I've owned both and if I had to pick one I would go with the Harmony since it's cheaper and the medela bottles are BPA free (avent are not). Though if you are pumping frequently you might go for the Isis, I was able to get more milk quicker with it.

I too rented the Lactina from the hospital, (which my ins covered) and the Isis. I really liked the Isis but I didn't use the petals. They were not comfortable.
