This is a totally random poll. I'm just bored.

What side of the bed do you sleep on? (From the perspective of laying in the bed and looking down at your feet, not standing at the foot of the bed)

Also, are you male or female?

I'm female, and I sleep on the left. The right would seem weird to me. lol.

I'm female and I currently sleep on the left. I used to be die-hard on the right, but we changed our bedroom setup when we moved and now it doesn't matter to me :)

Male, I sleep on the left. Though I'm told if I go to bed early I sleep in the middle so DH has to roll me to get into bed.

Female/Right

It was left for many, many years. I moved into a new home recently and the bedroom door is closest to the right side of the bed and that's where I feel most comfortable. It didn't hit me that until I lived here, the door had always been on the left side. Hmmph.

Female. Currently the right (and the middle, for half the night, really.) I've been on the right the whole time we've been in this house (3 years.) I was on the left in the house prior (over a year, but we also spent winter in separate bedrooms because I thought the master was too cold, and DH thought one bed was too small for pg me and our other babe and him.) The house before I think I was left, we were there 3 months. The house before was left, we there 6 weeks. The house before that I was on the right (2 years). The house before that I was left (2 years.) The house before I was right (4 years.) I can't remember any further back than that. ;) It's interesting that we switch back and forth. I wonder why that is?

ETA: sometimes I'm on the door side, sometimes dh is. Sometimes I'm on the bathroom side, sometimes DH is. I still haven't figured out why we switch.

Female. The left side, at present. I moved back there after dd2 was born. During the prior few years (mid pregnancy with Aaron until after I recovered from my c-section with dd2), I slept on the right side, as it's closer to the door and it was easier to get to and from the bathroom.

I've probably slept on the left about 60-65% of the time since I've been sharing a bed, and on the right the remainder. I tend to have a preference based on how the room is set up more than anything.

Female. Neither.

Since we moved the bed away from the windows for winter, I have been sleeping across the foot of the bed, so neither left nor right. You are probably doing this , yes? Well. our upstairs rooms are narrow and long and arranging the bed in the usual manner on the only non-widowed (non-fenestrated?) wall would have blocked the door of the mini closet that my 4yo likes to play in (the bedrooms have dormers). So my nightstand is set next to the foot of the bed and that's where I set up camp working, reading, or doing this at night as the light is on that table. Of course my 5.5mo fits quite nicely horizontally on the bed, but me, not so much. I suppose I could realign myself before sleep to fit better on the bed, but I don't want to wake my sleeping babe, who tucks in so dearly against me in my awkward foot-of-the-bed position.

When we first started sharing a bed, I slept on the right. I'm not sure when or why we switched, but I've been on the left for many years (in 3 different houses, and several different bed arrangements).

Female, left. My mom is the same. (We were talking one time when I was about 25 and determined that we both slept in the same, fairly unusual, configuration by preference. I found it rather amusing.)

Female, left, but I too have switched around depending on room arrangements and little ones in the bed. We call the right DH's side, the left my side, and the middle DD2's spot. However, I often start the night behind DH on the left to get some cuddle time with him before DD2's first night waking, and I spend part of the night in the middle when DD2 nurses on the left, so I often sleep on the left, middle, and right each night.

Female, left. DH has the door. He also takes the restaurant seat facing the entrance.

When DS1 and DS2 were younger and cosleeping, I was between them, and DH was on one side or the other depending on where we all landed. It was a fun time.

I'm female and I sleep on the left, closest to the wall. It doesn't matter so much to me what side of the bed I sleep on, as long as it is between DP and a wall. I feel more secure that way.
