I really want to save $$ couponing but last night I was clipping coupons that my MIL gave me and I started to feel overwhelmed straight away.
So this morning I went on ebay and bought lots of 20 coupons for the things that I buy a lot
like get one dollar off annies mac and cheese if you buy three.Well my store is doing buy 3 for five and doubling coupons so I figured that would be a good deal(so long as they get here on time,if not,i see this deal often so I am sure it will come around again before the expire date)
I feel a bit bad about spending money on coupons but last night I was on the computer for over two hours looking for the free coupons that I needed to print off and I didn't have the best of luck.
I guess I am looking for you frugal mamas to tell me that it is okay to spend a couple of $$ to save a bunch.

so do a lot of you buy them on ebay??

Good Morning!

I had never even thought of purchasing coupons on eBay until I joined The Grocery Game 2 weeks ago.

And NOW...I spend time almost every day perusing eBay for coupons that I need! :

I've bought coupons for years now off of eBay. Maybe make a purchase once a month or so depending on what was printed in the Sunday paper.

Examples of what I buy:

Zone "power" bars - Coupon for a $1, store will regualrrly put them on sale for a $1, thus free after coupon.

Scott TP - 4 pack or larger with a $1 off, store regularly puts them on sale for $1, thus free after coupon (I am down to one case now....)

Morningstar Soy Foods - Coupon for $1 off, use them when store puts them on sale, saves me a ton

Boca Burgers Soy Foods - Coupon for .75 or $1, use them when store puts them on sale

Horizon Organic dairy coupon - Will have .55 off most of the time, but take them to a store that doubles to $1, so I can get free yogurt cups and cheap milk, cream and butter.

I will buy these above coupons in lots of 20 or 40 and then just stock up.

I have bought a few other things from time to time but these are my main things I look for. Sometimes dry cat food coupons too.

Do you find that the coupons are worth it? Last time I checked, it was for free Electrasol. They were charging almost the full price of a box of Electrasol for each coupon - it wasn't worth it to me.

I'm glad you'all are finding some good coupons on there. I'll check it out again.

I got Purina One coupons on Ebay, but nowadays if I buy coupons I usually get them from www.thecouponclippers.com or www.thecouponmaster.com.

I just bought some off of coupon clippers, I was going to do ebay but found a better deal there on what I was looking for- and yes it was worth it to me- the savings of just 2 of the coupons will pay for the rest. Unfortunately around here I cannot get a lot of coupons and I think in the end it is probably the same price as having to buy a lot of papers- this way you get exactly the ones you will use.

I will buy coupons from eBay, if it is one of the few things that I actually buy from a grocery store. Also, sometimes the expirations dates are so soon that you might not even receive them in time to use them.

I don't buy newspapers. I use to clip coupons all the time. Now, I just don't buy a whole lot of stuff that there are coupons for.

I'm not sure about all stores, but I know that Shaw's Supermarkets honor expired coupons. It's awesome!

I never have yet, but I'm sure it is just a matter of time now. I used to get 20+ newspapers per week for free from a local gas station because they'd give me all their leftovers at the end of the night...thus no need to buy coupons. But...unfortunately...that gas station was involved in the Cedar Rapids flooding a few weeks ago, so they are now closed down to rebuild, so if there's something I want a lot of coupons for, I'll be buying them.

Yes for a few select items that i know the sale cycles for. I do grocery game and i have quite a stash of coupons anyway. coupons can be very overwhelming when you start so go slow and be patient.

I do occasionally, but I mostly get them from www.thecouponclippers.com since I know when she ships and how that works out with my stores' sales schedules.

I bought 20 Quaker oatmeal coupons off ebay this fall. Spent maybe $3 on them and postage.

Albertson's was having their yearly Quaker sale where a box of 10 oatmeal packets or 42oz canister of oats were $1. Add in my $.50/off coupons, and yeah. The rest of the year, those 42oz canisters run from $3-$5/ea, the packets $2.75-$4/ea. Totally worth it for me, as it was something I was planning to buy/stock up on anyway.

After reading this thread I bought some coupons off the coupon clippers. Just wanted to come back and give an update.

spent about $10 on coupons.
Not all of them were as described (2-3 out of about 15 not bad and the one I bought the most of had restrictions I was not aware of).

BUT

for a measly $10 I saved about $75-$100. amazing. i will definitely be buying from her more often.

and her customer service was excellent, the site and registration were easy peasy to use and the coupons came fast with a very detailed invoice (which considering I am buying things that cost $.08 I found over the top good)

They put it as selling there time for clipping and sorting them, not the actual coupons.
I am not complaining, saves me time

Wow. : I did not know you could buy coupons on ebay! I am new to couponing and that makes me very excited.

So I could *sell* them too then, right? Does anyone do that?

I just bought a big lot of Clif Kid's bar coupons... they are for 50cents off one individual bar...my Harris Teeter sells the bars individually for $1 and doubles all coupons under $1.... SO, I get my clif kid bars for -$0.01. They pay me for them! LOL... definetly worth it to get coupons that you know you'll use on eBay. (go through a site like bigcrumbs that gives you cash back for shopping on eBay and you've REALLY maxed yoru savings!)
