Boy, w 10,000 extra people attending, I would have thought we would have had a lively discussion! :

i desperately wanted to go but my preggo body just screamed "don't do it!" my sis went, though, and she said it was fantastic. she's expanding her massage business in a new location & is trying to do it as green as possible & she got a few good ideas from the festival. since i live out in naperville, i'm just waiting for the low-key "green earth fair" at the green earth institute in a few weeks. sorry there's not more discussion here because i was interested in reading more about it....

I wanted to go too but our funds are really tight this week and couldn't afford it

We went Sunday too. It was kind of overwhelming for my kids and they wouldn't sit still long enough to hear any of the speakers. They had fun checking out all the vendor booths though.

Dd1 liked the booths too. But since it was just me and the girls it was tough to manuaver. We went to a few of the documentaries for quiet time since they were not too full.

I wish dh could have attended, hopefully it will happen here again.

I was there at the Prairie Onion Cohousing booth wearing DS in an onbu for anyone who went to the Main Stage area. We were the booth right by the entrance to the stage area.

:

I had an awesome time there although, by the time I got to look around, all of the free giveaways (like the chico bags) were gone. Boo. I didn't even get a greenfestival t-shirt, for goodness sake! By the time I finished my shift at the POCo booth at 2:30, they were sold out.

:

I think the vendors and organizers really underestimated the Chicago interest in greenfestival.

And, for future reference to the PP, the City of Chicago Department of the Environment gave away free passes to greenfestival this year. You may also be able to score a pass from your alderman's office next year...or volunteer at the cohousing booth which is how I got in for free.

Did I talk with any of you MDC mamas at the Organic Valley kids' area?

Sorry came from the burbs so no free passes from the alderman. Also, I will volunteer next year. DH was gone on Sunday so I had to bring the girls anyhow.
