I was thinking it was FReeTHinker????

Anyway, our library system has A Peak With Books, and I own BFIAR.

I can give a better comparison now!

BFIAR (ages 2 thru 4) is much more gentle. It doesn't expect you to follow a week's schedule. It offers a wonderful classical book to read and about 5-8 activities that go along with the book-you choose just one or more of the avtivities. There is a Bible activity, but if you aren't Christian-just skip that one. At the back of the book, the Author gives many ideas on activities, crafts, etc that you can use to help your dc get ready for more of a curriculum.

A Peak With Books is described in RR's as a literature based, gentle way to nurture your dc along in learning reading readiness, math, science, language arts, and social studies-and art.(My summary.) You read the book, then there are "scripted" boxes that you can use to discuss the book with your dc. Each book is chosen to focus the dc on different concepts. It also gives you about 5 other book suggestions that would go along with each book. as well as many ideas,crafts,etc..

The biggest difference, is that BFIAR is geared toward the HSer. A Peak With Books is geared toward a classroom.

Another difference, RR writes that APWB's is for pre-k to grade 1. I see it more for kinder and 1st-not pre-k.

BFIAR is totally geared to the pre-k.

HTH?!?!

Oh good!! APWB's does look great, I will definitely check it out for resources. But I am also going to stick with BFIAR and FIAR VOL.1. They have a great website, with *tons* of book related info. The web site is very Christian.....but you can take what you need and leave the rest.

mp
