I'm happy to report that I haven't thrown up in 3 days! Yay! Nausea, yes...close to vomitting, yes...but no vomitting...knock on wood. I'm feeling better everyday.

How are my other severe m/s mamas doing?

I'm still doing the unisom/B6 combo, and it's working really well. Because I've been feeling better, I decided to try to reduce the dosage. It wasn't pretty. I was right back to throwing up several times a day, and just feeling overall yucky. With the meds, I'm not perfect, I'm getting sick a couple of times per week. But it's made a HUGE difference in my quality of life. I'm actually feeling good about being pregnant

Ann- I'm glad that you have under control with meds. Your life would be torture otherwise! Has your m/s been this bad with your other kids too?

I still get nauseous in the afternoons. I can't decide if it has to do with maybe eating too much at lunch or feeling tired or both. But at any rate, if I have a light snack I tend to feel a bit better. I haven't gotten sick in a while, thankfully. It's nice to be feeling more human

I'm better too. I have been throwing up every morning. I still have nausea too. Honestly, I'd rather throw up then have the nausea. I get awful heartburn about 5-8pm regardless of what I eat or how full or empty my stomcah is. If I am up past 9-9:30pm, I'm throwing up. So I just go to bed early.

I have visions of hell tonight. Dd spent hours at the park with friends playing. She took a late nap with me and is still sleeping at 6:20pm. She'll be up late tonight. If I wake her, she'll be so grumpy....what a delima!

I'm STILL sick too. 15 weeks now. I have moments of reprieve during the day but it still lasts all day and the evenings are still the worst. I haven't thrown up in over a week but man, the nausea is still totally overwhelming. I can't go anywhere in the evening so I really don't function from about 5 or 6 PM onwards. The ONLY thing that has helped me is aromatherapy (lemon and sweet orange oil) and Jolly Ranchers and Lemon Drop candies. Really, sometimes when I am gagging and seriously about to throw up, if I get a piece of candy in my mouth fast enough I can prevent it from happening. Speaking of which I need to go find one right now . . .

Do you feel better if you just throw up? Or do you find that you're better doing things to stop the vomiting like eating the lemon candy?

I try to avoid throwing up at all costs. Even though it is true that I do get some relief after I'm thrown up, it usually isn't worth it. The acid that I puke up along with food, stomach bile, etc. shreds my throat and I spit up blood. My throat is raw for a while after, and I just REALLY hate throwing up. I have had the stomach flu several times in my life, food poisoning, puking from drinking too much (back in the day) and I vomitted during my last pregnancy, but for some reason during this pregnancy it is especially violent. Hence, the great amounts of hard candy I have consumed -- like all day and night long. I'm so afraid I'm gonna rot my teeth (but I am hoping they are strong) and I'm afraid I'm going to test positive for gestational diabetes since I am consuming so much sugar, but I really feel like I've had few other options. Sometimes drinking ice water with lemon slices in it helps a bit too. What is it about the lemon? I love it!

I had the blood problem too from tearing up my esophagus with all the vomiting and stomach acid, so I know exactly what you are talking about. I find that when I am feeling nauseaous and just know that I will throw up eventually, I eat a Tums, then just go lean over the trash can 3-5 minutes later. It cuts the stomach acid and minimizes the damage to my throat. I was vomiting violently earlier, far longer that it was necessary to simply empty my stomach, then the stomach acid then the dry heaves and tons of salivation. It was really intense. My dr suggested vitamin B6 injections. I got a few of them one week apart and can't say they stopped the vomiting but I did have a lessening in intensity. Now I can pretty much throw up what ever is in my stomach and then stop. The intenst wretching really seemed to do the most damage to my throat. I also think that when you throw up daily for weeks on end, maybe the body just sort of learns how to streamline the process.

I have really liked anything citrus, especially lemon. I've been drinking lemonade, eating frozen lemonade pops, sniffing lemon soap! What ever helps we gotta do!
