Who's near Augusta?

778 Views 9 Replies 8 Participants Last post by  JTA Mom
Our family just moved to Grovetown from the DC area. I have two boys, a second grader and an almost three year old. Up in DC, most of my LO's friends(and mine) were from the active babywearing group, so now here he's friendless. And so am I!

Is there anyone, and would anyone want to get together sometime? Coffee? Playground? Just about anything? Our time is very flexible.

I'm here! I just moved to Grovetown too but from Chicago. I have a five year old, three year old, and 1 year old. I would love to meet some people.
Sounds like you'd find some like-minded mamas at our Peaceful Parenting group. It's an unofficial attachment parenting group. We have weekly playdates and a monthly potluck (in the evenings so DH's can come.)

There's also La Leche League, Birth Network . . . check out the "BABE Directory" in the free Natural Awakenings (is that the name of it?) paper.

Both PP and LLL have yahoo! groups you can search for:
Peaceful_Parenting_Augusta, AugustaLLL

Good luck!
I did go to the September LLL meeting.

I'll have to look up Peaceful Parenting, though. Hadn't heard of that one. And I don't know where that paper is... Is it distributed someplace in particular?
Earth Fare carries the Natural Awakenings.
i don't live there but i'm in there area fairly reguarly since my dad lives in thomson.

i went to the babe film festival last summer and they had a good turnout so i would definately recomend getting involved w/ them.

Of course, yes
I found it there the day after I posted saying I'd never seen it. Go figure.

I am in Grovetown too!!! DH was born and raised in Augusta and we just moved back here about two years ago. I have a two year old DS. I would love to go to Peaceful Parenting, I hadn't really heard of that one either. Prob, will be working though. I will look up the schedule. Don't know if you are interested in a church. We love ours: Journey Community Church, check it out if you are interested.

I'm in the Augusta area. I know this is probably not the place for this, but on the recommendation of some other MDC mamas, I'm posting in hopes that someone local might have some ideas for me. this is the thread: http://www.mothering.com/discussions...2#post14420812

I've been keeping up with your story on the other thread. In order to get a bigger response, please try posting a separate thread titled something like: Desperate, need help. Anyone near *blank*?

I think it's much more likely to stand out that way. If I lived near you I'd pick you up myself.
