I thought I'd respond. My little dd turns two next month, in July (the 20th).
Where HAS the time gone? She's talking so much now! I saw a newborn the other day, and it seems like yesterday when I was holding her in my arms (without her squiggling) and nursing her for hours on end.
But, I love this age. They're so much fun, and can communicate (more or less) their wants and needs. She takes her time getting everywhere (a lesson for mom...) and loves looking at simple things like flowers, leaves, sticks, pinecones and dogs and airplanes. I've only had one meltdown (aka a temper tantrum) which was in a supermarket when she hadn't taken a nap. My fault for taking her shopping at a sensitive time.
Question: what did you do for her b-day? A big party? I'm inclined to think that dd is a bit too young for the big giant party with the works, so I think we'll invite 2-3 good friends over for a couple of hours. A healthy cake, and maybe some noise-makers for them to play with?
I'm new at this whole children's party thing, and don't really want to listen what mainstream mags and ads say that a parent is 'supposed' to do for a birthday.
