Not trying to give out the creepy vibe- but I simply don't wear underwear. I find it very freeing. And I can imagine with a growing belly that it would cut off some circulation.

Maybe later in the pregnancy I will feel the need.

Also I guess I should point out I do own underwear and would wear them during my period.

Sorry if this was too much information.
Just thought I would give my opinion on the issue.

A few friends of mine made the same confession on a girls' trip a couple of weeks ago. I've got way too much discharge for that I think!

Yes, me too. Though I do know some friends that go pantiless. I think I've got too many sensory issues not to. After so long, I'm so used to that feeling. It's like with swimsuits-- I've worn a two piece since I was a toddler. If I wear a one piece now, I ironically feel naked, because I'm missing the bands under my boobs and across my waist! lol

Definitely choose underwear more for comfort now than I did 10 years ago though! lol

Pants-wise: I can still button up my "high-waist" jeans BUT it hurts (so I don't do it - just 'cause you CAN doesn't mean you SHOULD!)... I don't think I'm quite ready to be back in the maternity pants just yet, so I've been doing belly bands with non-maternity pants, and yoga/workout pants that go below the belly.

I will say, I love maternity pants because pregnancy was pretty much the first time in my life where my butt crack was consistently covered.

Shirt-wise: I wear mostly plain tees or button-down shirts, mostly with cami/tanks underneath these days... some of the shirts are starting to not fit so well.. I grabbed a maternity shirt out of my drawer to wear today for the first time this pregnancy.

Dress-wise: I knew I had a semi-fancy event at 13 weeks. I bought a maternity dress that looked good not showing (and looked great with a teeny bump, and there's still plenty of room to expand) - I had a maternity dress from the first pregnancy that I wore to death, so I knew for people that knew me then, it would be a dead giveaway that I was preggo again...

bra-wise... I needed new bras almost immediately... I'm already up a cup size or two (depending on which brand you ask)... I had some that still work because they're not as super-specific (Coobie bras, for those who want to look into them), and I grabbed some structured, but non-underwire nursing bras.

underwear: still wearing the usual stuff, but the hi-cuts are starting to dig into the belly. before I gave birth the first time, I loved thongs, so I have a bunch of maternity thongs waiting for me... I don't *mind* them anymore, but I seem to prefer hi-cuts, so I might have to see what exists in the "over the tummy" realm of maternity underwear.

accessories: no more regular pantyhose. maternity tights or thigh-highs. *sigh*

I have had a lot of friends tell me this, to the point where I actually gave it a try for a few weeks earlier in this pregnancy. It is definitely not for me! Not only do I have natural discharge, but I insert a vaginal progesterone supplement twice a day and require panties and a pantyliner to deal with that mess. I also felt as exposed in public after 2 weeks as I did the first day. Not something I think I'll ever feel comfortable with.

I haven't worn underwear regularly since I hit puberty. I hated it. Still do. The only time I wear underwear(with a pantyliner) is when I do jumping jacks.

I think that perhaps my underwear days were markered when i started traveling- I backpacked through Ghana after uni and I quickly realized how hard it was to keep undies washed.. And since I spent most of my twenties living out of a backpack and hitchhiking around "third world" countries, I saw that undies were a luxury for most women in the world.
Also now my husband and I actually live in a campervan- I know we will get a house soon, but we just love being gypsies

Anyway I know that even if you don't regularly go panty less- if you experience bladder or yeast infections- let that vagina breathe a bit! Also if you can go braless- I just read a study where women that wear bras most frequently are at a higher risk for breast cancer. I also hardly ever wear a bra.

Sorry this isn't on topic for maternity wear-

Bras are related to maternity wear. lol My boobs get GINORMOUS in pregnancy! I actually go braless 90% of the time. I don't love it, but it feels better than feeling restricted in a boob cage lol.

Broke out my box of maternity clothes today. Most of my regular clothes still fit fine, but I went gift shopping today and really wanted to get myself some new clothes- but it wasn't in the budget. So I figured I'd dig my maternity clothes out of the basement for a change of wardrobe. Most of the stuff wasn't very exciting to see again- everything was handed down to me, so most of it is pretty well worn and shabby. But, there were a few cute things I'd forgotten about that I'm excited to wear. I have a hard time justifying buying new mat clothes, since they'll only get worn for a few months (this will be my last pregnancy) but I think I might buy a few things as an Xmas gift to myself. Having a belly is a lot more fun when you feel comfortable and pretty in your clothes- not frumpy and sloppy, which is my case. Can't wait for summer to rock the flowing sundresses again!

For fun, I just put on a maternity top and pants ... And all of a sudden, hello bump! I was feeling like I looked weird in my regular clothes. Now I look pregnant!

I am having issues. I thought that maternity clothes would help accentuate my little belly, but I feel like I am still too small for anyone to notice and I just look like I am wearing bagging clothes. I can tell I'm pregnant without clothes, and I like my belly; but everything I wear just looks wrong. Anyone else feel like this? Last pregnancy I felt my belly looked "right" at all stages. This time, I think the belly is looking so weird on me, like strangely unnatural. When I tried on the fake belly at Destination maternity while trying on clothes, it was like, "Gross, get that off of me!" Looks so wrong... Hmmm

I'm just a little on the fluffy side(thank you, previous 3 children so close in age!) so I still look blah in anything I wear.

Watermama- i think i get what you're feeling. With my last pregnancy, I felt very natural at all stages. This time, I just feel like I'm swelling. I feel awkward and weird in my clothes- even my maternity pieces. I think I'm right in that stage where I'm getting too big for my regular clothes but still not showing enough for maternity wear. I'm hoping that will change when my bump gets more....bumpy?

This is how I always feel in the first tri. I've never not felt awkward!

The past 3 days, tho, I've suddenly "popped" and look/feel very pregnant. (pushing 15 weeks) Weird how it happens almost over night!

It really depends which maternity clothes I wear..... I found that the nice shirts I bought at Macy's really make my belly look pregnant...whereas the cheap ones I bought at Old Navy I look just fat... the jeans help too..

It's really time for me to break down and buy some. I look like I've been binging on beer and pizza crammed into my regular clothes. And I'm down to just one pair of pants that fit!! This weekend. For sure. Sigh...I hate clothes shopping. Being short makes it kind of a drag.
