Hi Mamas!

My poor little 7 week old dd's thighs are getting pricked/rubbed by Snappis. When I put the pf on (premium infant size, no fold-down as she's very long) there seems to be plenty of room between snappi and skin (on either side). But when I take the diaper off (and even when it's not soaked) it's rubbing on her.

I'm thinking I'll switch to pins now (trifold doesn't work well fo rus) but she's very squirmy so I was hoping to avoid it. Any thoughts on this?

(BTW, word to the wise...DO NOT leave snappis where a curious 3 year old can get to them...you never know when you might find them in odd places or trying to "comb" her beautiful woven blanket with the teeth of a snappi...booohoooo).

Best!

Do you need to have your snappi gripping more fabric so that it isn't rubbing through the pf onto the skin? Is that what you mean is happening? Or is it coming loose with activity and scratching the skin? What kind of fold do you do? I'm guessing a 7 wk old isn't mobile enough so that a snappi would come loose, but maybe it wasn't firmly enough affixed in the first place? How big is baby? Is it just time to size up to regular/standards?

Well, I'm snappying the diaper I guess just below the hips, towards the front. I have to fan out the trifolded front to get the diaper around her waist. It grabs fine, the issue isn't slippage. It's more that the diaper sags and even though when I first snappi'd there was maybe a half inch of diaper on each side of the snappi teeth (not under), after she wets (she's a super laser pee-er like her big sister) the bottom part sort of bunches up and the snappi rubs against her skin.

However we're traveling this weekend so I brought disposables and now she has a full-bum rash. Poor little baby. I've slathered her with TriplePaste and can't wait to get home to my pf's tomorrow, even if I have to pin them! I do prefer the snappi for convenience and I think it gives a better fit actually. But the rubbing is bad!

sounds to me like you may need to go down a size on the PF
maybe try the standered size and see how that works.. you can order just 1 from lots of different places for like $2.00 + shipping (ask them to send it first class) try that I think it may work for you
