I was doing yardwork last night, and watched a pickup truck practically STOP right in front of my neighbor's driveway and drop a liquor bottle <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/irked.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="irked">: He wasn't home and I sent him a message telling him not to pull in until I got it cleaned up. Two things come to mind here: Why would someone do that? And were they drinking it in the car? In this town I wouldn't be surprised one bit if they were. A man was arrested on his 16th ( yes that's correct ) DUI while driving backwards down the main street drunk. Gah, and DH and I thought we had it bad b/c some UA violation keeps letting their dog poop in our yard (we put a sign on the poo yesterday that said, "thanks! We love cleaning your dog's poo!" b/c we're sarcastic like that). I would take poo over liquor bottles and drunk drivers. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/irked.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="irked">:

About a year ago someone threw several beer bottles in our driveway and even knocked our mailbox off of it's post. They were very drunk and they did this while our neighbor was standing just a few feet away getting his mail. Our neighbor got their tag number and called the police. In our case they were caught and charged with DUI and destroying property. It was a huge pain to clean up (we think there were at least 12 bottles in our driveway and front yard). <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/irked.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="irked">:

We had a neighbor who got tired of dog owners leaving the dog poo in their front yard, so the neighbor wrote the nastiest sign and put it in the yard. Cuss words and all. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/lol.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="lol"> I don't think they had the poo problem, anymore, b/c the sign was not being maintained for read-ability.

i cycle alot in my area and have come to realize that there is a lot of drinking while driving. i see liquor bottles, beer cans, cases of beer along the side of the road all of the time....
