I used to know the ans for this but can't remember and my friend called today freaking out....so I told her I would find out...

So, why do the labels on the fenugreek bottles say not to take it if you are pregnant or nursing???

She ended up buying blessed thistle instead but I told her that the fenugreek was way ok and she could even take them together which is what my LC told me to do for a bit..

i have never seen them say "or nurseing"

it is not considered safe while pregant -- i think -- and i don't remember -- it is contractions... Maybe? I jusat know i took it till we started TTC.

It's a CYA kind of thing. It isn't safe to take while pregnant though because it is a uterine stimulant.

Don't take while pregnant, because it stimulates contractions.

Don't take while nursing, because it will increase your milk supply (a bad thing if you're an over-producer like me).

What is the blessed thistle for? In another thread, a woman posted that blessed thistle could be dangerous while pregnant.
