I have been supplementing zinc for a while, assuming that the zinc was helping form hcl. Recently I decided to supplement hcl, too, and it seems to be helping. Does anyone know what is broken if hcl helps but zinc doesn't?

How much zinc were you supping, for how long, and what kind?<br><br>
The deal is that zinc is used lots of places in the body, so if you weren't getting a good form (or having trouble absorbing it in the first place) or not getting enough, they you may still be zinc deficient.<br><br>
Not saying that's the only possible cause, but it might be that you haven't gotten to the point where you have enough zinc to fix the problem.

I know there's other stuff for HCl, I don't remember what. But depending on what's going on, some people will be able to supp a huge amount of zinc before they get to borderline enough. But there are other possibilities (I remember being surprised when PB mentioned magnesium was also important for digestion, forget which part, but DD always need more mag as well as zinc, so yeah, I struggle with pretty poop for her).
