My DD does not do well with solids. We've recently found out that she's pretty successful with baby food (stage one or two) fruits. YAY! This is a huge step for us- and I know that it doesn't necessarily mean anything long term, but I'm happy to see her eat- and enjoy it.
My DH saw one of our friends when her was out getting her more baby food, and she said it must be embarassing that DD is eating is at almost 3.
I'm sorry, what? I'm just happy to see her eat 'real' food!

Congrats on the eating, though. I was the same way when my son spontaneously pointed for the first time (at 28 months) - people looked at me like I had three heads.

Yay! I hate it that people don't understand but many of us with kids with food issues have been there. We'll be excited with you if it counts at all! (my son is three in a week; today he drank some smoothies and ate two jars of baby food pears--with me feeding him the whole time; he may have eaten some mashed up blueberries with his daddy tonight while I was gone though I forgot to ask. I think there are more of us out there than we feel like at times).

What a thoughtless thing to say!
