OK, I admit it. This is a very dangerous topic here at MDC. However, as a radical non-voting kind of gal, I thought that there might be one or two of us here.

Mostly I'm looking to commisserate with a few souls who are also so perplexed with the widespread ideas that 1) voting affects real change in people's lives, and 2) voting is a kind of activism in and of itself, and 3) that representative democracy is empowering.

I don't know, but my total disinterest in voting since my teenage years has made me as popular as a political conservative at a Nader rally. Or something like that.

Ever feel like that?

Please don't use this thread to start a discussion about how you disagree with me/us. I'm looking for support only!

I dont vote, but for different reasons. I do not feel mankind can solve the problems of today. Each year they try, and each year things get worse and worse. I believe the only real LASTING solution is God's kingdom or government.

Thanks for your post.

How do you handle the folks who look at you incredulously when you tell them you don't vote? Do you simply give them the articulate, concise explanation or do you do something else?

Until I find a candidate I like, i'm not going to vote. People tell me that I am not exercising my right to vote. I think that is goofy, I also have a right not to vote. Plus I'm not really up on politics so i don't think I could make a valid decision.
